We might have beaten UCF if Burcham doesn't get hurt and reduce us to trotting out our third string QB. And things would have been a lot different in both UH and UCF games if we had GG. Not making excuses for June, though. Cincy and Rutgers coulda shoulda been wins.
A loss is a loss. Doesn't matter how you got there. Injuries happen and that's why you need to recruit to have depth because they are going to happen. Gilbert could have thrown 4 picks in both those games, he looked bad against the best teams he played last year so who knows. Maybe Houston would have hung 70 on us, maybe us on them. Basing an argument about speculating what maybe could have possibly sorta kinda supposedly so you're saying there's a chance have been is pointless.
I'm just saying it's tough losing your starting QB/undisputed MVP with 2 weeks left.

That's true-no doubt-but go back over our schedule-I believe more than half the teams on our schedule lost QB starters to injury and had to play with replacements in multiple games. You really have to have someone who can come in and play. SMU didn't-other teams had backup QBs actually outplay their expected starters

Yep, for example TCU lost QB Pachall, and Devonte Fields on defense for our game, yet they had enough to beat us badly. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

That's right. Playing the what if game gets us nowhere. True we might have beaten Cincy, but then again they might have blown us out. Same for UCF and other games. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Wow I just went over the SMU schedule and I think UCF may be the only team that didn't have to rely on a backup QB for at least 1-2 games-most many more games. Need to have a plan for a backup ready to go next year

TCU, Cincy, USF, and UH off the top of my head had different starting QBs from week 1 when we played them- although UH definitely made a step up with O'Korn....

BU,TCU, and A&M are going to destroy SMU. We should and probably will beat UNT.
SORRY sports fans but that is what we are.... A mid major without much talent with a lame duck coach bleeding assistant coaches, who doesn't recruit and will phone it in next year.
We aren't ULM... Who has at least some talent, coaches who fire up the team and can give an A&M scare.
Thank The Lord we are in a crappy conference and will win 3-4 games. 4-8 ; 3-9 is where we end.
I remember Doh's last year. Moody was a morgue. No hope other than we all knew a new coach was coming. So, if LB can turn around BB, then a coach like Butch Davis can turn around FB.

If our recruiting and coaching is as advertized by them then it should be one good game. UCF beat them badly so we can at least hang with them, no excuses. Go Mustangs.
do you live in Colorado? What are smoking. junes teams are nowhere near ready in Aug/Sept. Padron/tech was fairly close but still werent prepared...
