With a kid that has this kind of athletic ability trying to make him into Colt Brennan would be stupid. Use some WR motion, some two back sets, the zone read, etc. Give him the ability to do what he does best. If we do that we might have a fairly solid running attack with Davis, Nmelchi, and Gresham.

Don't forget Pope. He was doing 8 yards per carry last year.

I want to see Davis as an outside receiver for us.

Are we just assuming that because he's 6'1" and runs a 4.5 or whatever that he can automatically make the transition to WR? I don't think it works that way.

No way he picks up Jones offense in summer practice. My guess is he starts out on defense or WR and is used as a Wildcat QB until he can learn the offense better. I am not ready to give up on Burcham yet. Just random thoughts.

I hate to be overly excited but the thought of Davis and Gresham together is awesome.

We don't even know if he can catch very well. I say let's give him a fair opportunity at QB before even considering moving him to a new position.

Maybe JJ could simplify the offense a bit for him- it's not like June's offense has been tearing up CUSA/AAC defenses for the past six years

No, he will start at NT. Then move to RB. Then, ultimately, slot receiver.

I thought you understood football.

I have to laugh at those saying Jones might change his offense.

Many Aggies wanted to move him to Safety-that's really where his physical talents suggest he belongs on a June Jones team. Of course on a June Jones team you recruit 25 Receivers to find 4 that can play. He's a big physical kid that could have an NFL future at Strong Safety especially

Well, I thought he changed it up a bit to play to GG's strengths. But yeah, you're right, JJ is stubborn as a mule. But if he thinks opening up the offense for Davis might be his best chance at six wins, a bowl, and another $2M check in 2015, he might just do it.

I think he is too proud. He changed a little with Mummy and I do not think he liked that (see Mummy now). Never know but Jones himself talks about how long it takes to learn his system. I think where he might bend is a Wildcat in the red zone where we bog down with the R&S. that would be a big change also but I could imagine that.
