I think you see my point. The man is just not very bright. His antiquated offense has been rendered obsolete, his overhead projector recruiting tactics have failed, and now all but the most ardent "June to the death" supporters have abandoned him. Luckily for him the joke is on us as we saw fit to give him an extension and continue paying him $2,5M a year.
The difference is that june doesn't consider himself a Mustang like those coaches support thier teams, he hardly will even wear mustang shirts.

Hey, the man was dining and was a guest in this guys house. How rude do you have to be? Coach Jones should have not had to have asked that the picture not go public. I think Coach can take care of himself and certainly does not need me to stand up for him on this. Let's just say maybe it is a lesson learned not to dine in that persons house again. I don't expect pictures at a private function to go on the internet...only because people will get their shorts all in a wad. It was obviously taken in jest. Proably does not even bother Coach Jones that it went public. That is what would bother me.

Yes, there is certainly plenty of madness going around.

Agreed. Giving an extension to a coach that publicly humiliated the university and has been treading water at .500 for half a decade is the very definition of madness.

We need to keep our eyes on the prize that this contract extension is a paper tiger and if 2014 collapses, then SMU doesn't have punitive $$ to pay depending on if/when a move is made. SMU is not going to fire June Jones over something like this. He'd have to do something as bad as what Mike Price did for that to happen. His 7 year stay here has been nothing short of stormy.

That pic makes it tough, but the fact is people who really, really want to hate someone will find evidence to support their preconceived conclusions. It's pretty damned near zero people on here who truly understand the man June Jones. But one example: He did not come here for the money.

He is trying to get fired at this point.
We really have to ask ourselves if June has not been trying to get fired since the fateful UCF game when he proceeded to, maybe, throw the rest of the season
He knows SMU would not buy out his contract due to cost so what does he care. Such a self centered, arrogant jerk.
GO MUSTANGS!

Yeah but your comparison is all rivals. Baylor isnt really a rival and I know they (fans) dont think so either.

Regardless of who thinks they're rivals or not, they're still are our first game of the season.

Would Mack Brown ever wear Ole Miss gear? Houston gear? It's not a good policy to have your picture taken with gear of any school other than your own. Especially when you add in recruiting implications.

I don't know that anyone wants to hate June. Most here, myself included, would rather win a national championship with June than to have to fire him for not being the right fit for us going forward. But the overwhelming evidence is that he isn't the right fit for us going forward. Not understanding the sensitivity of this picture only underscores the rest of the evidence.

so you've bought into his pseudo-messiah mythos that the hawaiian polytheists so easily bought into. Have you preordered Born in June yet?
