Ties to Texas: recruited the state as HC of ISU '07-'08 and Auburn '09-'12; co-DC at UT '05-'06; asst. at SFA '92-'97 Ties to AAC: recruited in Florida/across pats of AAC footprint during HC tenure at Auburn
He won a BCS title and an SEC championship. His HC record is only .500, but that was at ISU (awful) and Auburn (SEC West).
Good option

He went straight down hill after his OC and Scam Neton left. No thanks. Auburn hated him.

Not a good 1st tier option. After Malzahn left he lost.

Here's one: What about Deon Sanders Sr.? Pretty sure Primetime would have no problem recruiting. He is a great motivational speaker and a top five all time NFL Great. May work with his son on the team. Recruiting is everything....

Meh, I'd pass. Really had one good year thanks to the Cammy Cam.

As both an SMU and Auburn alum, and having a deep involvement with the Auburn family I must say no to Chiz!
He is absolutely horible. No people skills, and could not motivate his way out of a paper bag.
We need a good recruiter and salesman for the program and university at large.
Now a certain assistant of Gus's whould probably be a good choice.
