Do you really think you're building a program when you're cycling coaches every three years? Changing systems? Personnel?

I'm not suggesting we be scared to hire a hot young coach who leaves after 4-5 years. I'm just saying do we want someone who may be gone after 2-3?

It's a head coaching job in a hot bed of recruiting talent. Really good school with a tradition and can win conference. And more money! And coming back to home state. Great jumping board to get CFB HC experience at a P5. And, did I say more money!

What does that even mean? Answer the question. Why would he chose SMU over an assortment of P5 options?

Footballdad, you should stop into an SMU economics class sometime. There are factors outside of job prestige that go into deciding whether to accept an offer. Don't be so close-minded.
As for everybody else, I'm not saying it will happen, but maybe I'm not the only alum who had jabs thrown his way at work today. Even those more powerful than me surely wish they were proud of their alma mater this time of year--directing folks to US News' Rankings instead of the AP's isn't a potent defense and it doesn't work for every school in the state
