Can we get someone a walkin talkie set and have someone in the stands ring up PA announcer and tell him his decibel level was now approaching that of a 777 taking off 5' away! Guy next to me jumped and spilled coke on me when after a minute of silence mr. PA screamed over the horn.

All these gripes about corn dogs and M&M's are nothing compared to the need to get rid of the mini mustang cheerleaders. Once again a whole section of Aggies around me snickered as this unbelievably high school, make that middle school, amateur hour bit was rolled out.

Unless those parents want to fund a DAS, give them all the boot and if they don't buy tickets anymore, good riddance, it'll will be worth their weight in gold for the reputation repair we will receive.

The whole cell phone issue needs to be resolved, and frankly should have been resolved two or three years ago. We will never attract a younger demo with this issue. Like it nor not, that's as essential as bathrooms today for entertainment venues. After TCU we'll barely have a few thousand fans, so the issue is moot the remainder of the year, but preparations for next season should begin today. The fact is SMU should have brought in mobile units for the first two games, knowing the history of the cell issues. Major dropped ball for whoever is in charge of facilities and game presentation.

AT&T is the logical partner, but if they don't want to help, get one of their competitors to get positive PR in ATT's backyard.

A school that has milkmen as cheerleaders has absolutely no room to talk.

One other suggestion... I know that there are some split opinions on Craig James, but can we not have him die in a fiery crash as one of our time fillers?
AT&T is right down the road. You would think they could sponsor or put in necessary towers around stadium.

Thats my biggest concern and you aren't going to keep people in he stadium all game in this day and age without it.
Well said, you keep pumping the social media and encourage all to get involved but due to cell tower limitations its impossible to do so.Seriously were in the middle of Dallas and no service, wow.
This needs to be done ASAP.
Package this deal for new cell towers with the new ATT/Golf course deal, there's your in.

Thanks for addressing the concerns!

Tide Pony is right. Just look at that terrible TCU band 10 years ago and now. Cheerleaders like the Dallas Cowboys and much bigger presentation with a larger band and all the fluff around it. SMU band is much better, it is just too small for the huge arena that is Division 1 football and Gameday. Times have changed.

The kids are cute...my wife enjoys seeing them....these same kids seem to perform at our basketball games....maybe I am out of touch with reality, but I would prefer fewer children involved and cutsie fillins....when I am at our events I want a serious mature battle scene...I have been a regular preseason ,post season fan for many years...I made the games in garland last year...I am an old guy,but I want to see texas lose and I want to see smu win...and I don't care how. (tcu is an afterthought fill in for being our primary opponent as far as I am concerned..).

And, by the way, I bet my life that one of our pompous boosters with more money than sense has $1-2m to get the cellphones fixed. Someone just has to be smart enough to make it a priority and ask for it.

Those mini mustang cheerleaders are all tied to SMU fans who actually attend games. My fraternity brother's daughter was one of them. While they aren't "major" donors, they have had "good" seats in the stadium since it opened. They actually go to all of the games. Their little girl enjoys doing it. Telling people like them to pound sand is simply stupid. We should be doing more things to invite families to our games.

Not so fast....take a gander over to KillerFrogs.com....there is a whole thread about their terrible band. Seems it has gotten smaller and outdated (whatever that means). Now the cheerleaders? Don't see any grumblings about those over there.

I agree-I want to involve as many different groups of people in as many ways as possible. Most people used to think of the Baylor Line as hokey but now they are getting 98% participation rate among freshman and its a point of pride
