And here it is, evidence of how disconnected from reality this kid really is (from the DMN coverage of the case):
Ukwuachu sobbed audibly as the verdict was revealed, according to the newspaper report. The Pearland native reportedly is seeking probation, but could face between two and 20 years in prison

Probation??? Is this kid out of his damned mind?? Unbefreakinglievable.

This is the crux of the whole thing. The "investigation" Baylor did on the matter was so shoddy and one sided that the court did not allow the defense to reference it in his trial, basically the court called their investigation a joke.

Which is more believable? Baylor is so inept, they cannot run an investigation, or there was pressure to come to a conclusion that allowed him to stay on campus and play football?

You're absolutely correct but excluded one key point.

Their President & Chancellor, Ken Starr was a former Judge & Solicitor General of the U.S.

Is he serious?

And I think his continued defense of tiki is crazy.

This is a new low.

@max_olson: Art Briles: "I talked with Chris Petersen personally. No mention of anything beyond Sam being depressed, needing to come home."

From ESPN:
"After Sam Ukwuachu was dismissed from the Boise State football program and expressed an interest in transferring to Baylor, I initiated a call with coach Art Briles," Petersen said in the statement. "In that conversation, I thoroughly apprised Coach Briles of the circumstances surrounding Sam's disciplinary record and dismissal."

Half of this thread is really weird.
Anyways - Art Briles is getting taken to town in local and national media on this. Especially in light of the Petersen statement.
Whatever shine was on Baylor has been removed and justifiably so.

I don't think Briles is going to be able to get out of this. Baylor will have to fire him here soon.
Probaly won't happen...BUT...maybe it will!!

Art Briles will not be fired. No way. I can see some sort of official hand slap, but he wont be fired for this.

There's no way Baylor is axing Briles over this. He's the golden goose.
But his character has been permanently stained.

Fire Briles?

If Morris were to have Briles type success at SMU, would we fire him in the same situations?................Absolutely not!

Don't kid yourself.

They'll fire the Dean of Student Conduct who did the half-assed investigation just to show they did SOMETHING, but that'll be about it.
