Stallion wrote:tickets have already been issued but for most games I would support keeping them in the same general area but moving the band and the students over to better sections because otherwise there are going to be a lot of empty seats. But I'd kind like to see if the students like being near the open endzone this year. What exactly does that student tent have? Is it a Bring the Boulevard to Ford Concept? They may be onto something having an informal social gathering area. Let's see how this plays out. I don't see how you move them this year when seats have already been purchased. It should be pointed out that the private schools that have been most successful with student attendance-TCU and Baylor give their students prime seating in the middle of the sideline grandstands. Both TCU and Baylor student sections are great seats in their new stadiums

I've read a lot of his posts and I can't imagine going through life being that angry and miserable about absolutely everything.

Note to newbs and not-so-newbs...this is not the forum to make fun of the band.
IF you must, I recall that the basketball forum was the place for negative band talk last season!

It is perfectly normal and acceptable to express opinions of game day presentation - it's part of why people come to the games. We want it to be as good as it can be in this area, so yeah there is going to be discussion especially after changes are made. If you don't like It don't read it, or maybe pick a different sport.

Hey, at least the PA guy only called us the Bears and not the Longhorns.

ponyboy wrote:Think about it. It's physics, geometry. The opponent's band is at the top right of the horseshoe and the players on the field, the SMU sideline, and the SMU season ticket holders on the west side get a pretty direct hit of sound from the wrong band. The SMU band is placed in the exact same spot Baylor put them at McLane last year, with slightly less than half their sound hitting any human being directly. Much of it is projected down Mockingbird towards the Dallas Country Club. An old lady sitting on her porch on Mockingbird drinking iced tea on Friday night heard more Mustang Band than we did in 206.
Big mistake. Move the band.
Correct....sound reflections from the horsehoe work much better than isolated at the southeast end-zone. A very dumb decision IMO.

Yeah, it's where most teams try to put the visiting band to minimize their impact. We're doing it to our own band?
