I cared. First I am a college football fan. Second, my teams coach had a hand in putting one of the teams together.

I was referring to Stallion's apathetic SMU fans he always talks about.

I think it's cute that you divided those numbers by 1,000 in your post. :D

I can't believe anyone that posts on this site wouldn't watch that game last night. College football is awesome, and that was one of the best games ever.

I really don't get our fan base at times.

I agree. College football is awesome.

But I can understand why someone wouldn't want to see 'Bama win another game.

I enjoyed watching the NC game with Mrs. peruna81, amidst popcorn and pointed "wows". Two teams, built very different, going toe to toe. Some things that were takeaways for me:

-Officials need to be on their "A" game, too. The clock operator and officials cost Clemson at least one play at the end of the half. Inexcusable in the NC game.
-Later, when Coker was trying to signal for a timeout before the play clock expired, the Back Judge stood there a good 4-5 seconds before granting the timeout. Again, not supposed to happen in the NC game.
-In what will probably go down as one of the great coaching calls of the modern era, 'Bama completes the perfect onside kick...and the kicker for Alabama, THE KICKER, was clearly offsides.
-Speaking of offsides, how is it that the officials did not notice the Clemson D-lineman who had been previously flagged for neutral zone infraction lined up offsides again a couple of plays later? Herbie noticed it and mentioned it before the snap. Line Judge, Nah. Can't happen.
-O and D lines matter if you want to compete at the highest level. Even so, both teams were gouged by the other's offenses. Ours half to improve on a quantum level.
-Special teams matter, too. Alabama's were special...Clemson's, not so much.
-If HCCM helped recruit Watson, then he knows where the clone is, or at least a relative. That kid was amazing.

Per Stallion's comment, I have awareness of professional sports teams and their situations, but don't live and die with any of them. Not so with SMU sports...I still have a bad taste in my mouth after an SMU loss, and it doesn't get better until the next game (and victory). Basketball has risen to the level of excellence that we saw last night...football will take the next small step in a couple of weeks, and then again next August. It will be a long, but not cold winter of anticipation, not discontent, for SMU sports in the coming days.

I agree.
Mostly everyone on the SMU fanbase saw the game yesterday...just cause people dont have a 50 page thread talking about it dont mean nobody cares/watched.
