Missed the game due to my parents' 50th anniversary party, so I had a legit excuse. Sounds like I missed a good one.

My biggest question is what is the story on Wyatt? We can afford to lose him.

Congratulations on your mom and dad's anniversary...the only thing you missed was:

-Stallion being escorted to and from game by a TCU dance squad member...
-Mrydel buying the folks in his section lunch...
-ponyte standing outside the stadium with a sandwich-sign stating: THE WORLD (and smu football) IS DOOMED! and...
-SMU beat Arky Lite.

Actually section 104 did win the free double double at In and Out. I gave my tickets to Smupony94 since we have no In and Out in Arkansas. So I guess I did buy lunch for my section.

We have better athletes. In just about every position. We are imporving. We are not there yet but getting there.

We had a much better game plan on both sides of the ball.

Kids played really hard and focused.

Hicks was solid. The majority of his throws are nott kinda down the filed but way down the field. 50% is good when throwing so many longer passes.

We have three really good recievers now in Sutton, Quinn, and Proche. Defenses can only double one of them so they choose Sutton which really opens things up for the others. At some point defenses are going to have to change how they do things and Sutton will blow up like he did against unt.

For those of you who missed the game, I encourage you to watch all or part on WatchESPN. I don't know if they count the number of replays, but I have to believe they do. That can't hurt in terms of negotiations with ESPN next time. So just go and type in SMU and watch some of the game. Every click helps! Plus Hicks looks better on the replays than in person. I was surprised.
I am happy where we are and that we did it in a bigger way than I expected.

Just keep scoring more points than our opponents. I haven't studied every defense, but I like our chances against UConn, Tulsa, Cincy, and Tulane. Houston is a toss up but it's at their place and they will be gunning to beat us from last year but I think HCCM is heads and shoulders above Applewhite (ie chess match) and so we shall see. Memphis will probably out score us, and I have no idea about UCF - they look good, but we are at home so . . . And I have no comment on Navy.

And, I hesitate to say this (a criticism of C Sutton because the dude is a beast) but I've seen a couple of passes I'd like to go get more aggressively. The one where he was overthrown to at TCU - maybe a catch if he dove for it. Broken route on another one that would have gone for 6 and then one other one that was high he didn't jump for. That is all. Throw it UP, Ben Hicks. and Courtland, go get it! That's a big gain and catch every time. Matt Davis did that a lot to him, just throw it up there and give him a chance, even if doubled (every once in a while, just to keep the defense "honest").
