No upside? I say huge national spotlight counts as an upside.

Let me say also from a student perspective, a game on a Tuesday will make for a huge tailgate opportunity and is so novel i guarantee it will get people out. Also from the student perspective, when halloween is on a weekend Sigma Chi usually puts on a huge party that is the big draw. With it being on a Tuesday, students looking for a big party type option for the night will know the party is at Ford.

Trust me, students will come. Look at the ESPN2 women's bball game - way more student attendance than normal.

Um .... oops.

That would be my doing. I'd go back and change it now, but after five pages of posts and nearly 1,500 views, that would be a little ridiculous, don't you think?

Nice catch, MM65.

And shame on everyone -- starting first and foremost with me -- for NOT catching it. :P

I caught it, but considering some of the other screw ups you see posted on here, I didn't think it was worth the effort to call it out. Besides, with all the work the webmasters have done to get the Recruiting Roundup put together and posted...they deserve a little slack.

We should also make note that the Houston game, also in Dallas is being played on Veterans Day which could also be promoted to the fullest with free tickets to veterans, lots of red white and blue pomp, jets flying over, someone special to sing God Bless America and the national Anthem, etc.

No flyovers either, with our luck they'd accidentally release a few bombs. Of course then we wouldn't have to pay someone to excavate for the GWB Library.

Looks like I'll be in NOLA for the Tulane game for one of my OOC games this year. Anybody else? Along with Houston for Rice as usual. That one could be our 11th win this year. (I hope)

It's starting to sound like we'll have a good sized SMU contingent at the Tulane game. I'm hoping that LSU-Miss. St is at night, which it should be unless moved by espn to early afternoon...if so, it's SMU-Tulane early on, then drive to Red Stick and make use of our Tiger Stadium tickets in the afternoon.

Wonder what kind of action I can get on this two-game parlay..

Even for the rabid fan its hard to turn down a kid who has his own idea of what he wants to do on Halloween. Plus SMU College kids going to a Football Game instead of a Party? And to top things off the starting time of 6:30 on a Work Day in a game off Central is going to be brutal.

I agree-They should move the kick-off to 8pm so that people will attend and fans at home will watch.

Have we had a mid-week home game since we started the boulevard? How is that going to work, are they going to cancel afternoon classes so that students can go party, or just ignore it all together? I know that if I was an undergrad and had to choose between class and getting trashed on the boulevard I would choose the latter. How are they going to set this up?

Maybe they should start class a few days earlier in the week so that the students can have a midweek holiday?
The donkey's name is Kiki.

On a side note, anybody need a patent attorney?

Good, Bad...I'm the one with the gun.

I plan to head to NOLA for the SMU-Tulane game, although I'm a little weirded-out that it'll be in the dome. I've been to hundreds of events there before, but it sorta gives me the creeps to go back in there after the Katrina debacle.

I was there, though, in '91 (my freshman year) when we beat Tulane!
