SHSU Bearkat Nation???? Are you kidding me? Does this mean there is a (UTA) Maverick Nation, a (U of Dallas) Crusader Nation, or a (Texas Wesleyan) Ram Nation?

I believe that the term "Nation" is being over used here. There is no Mustang Nation but maybe a Mustang Citystate. As for schools like SHS, SFA, NTSU, etc.. they are more like Bearcat Splinter Group, Mean Green Cult, Lumberjack Village, etc...

Only schools like ND, Michigan, and Oklahoma have the ability to claim a nation. However, I would like to point out that Aggies are more a cult than anything else.

To the extent there is any claim to nation status for these groups it is clearly a third world nation, devoid any infrastructure which would qualifiy it as civilized. Get some running water and a currency and come talk to us.

Ah, the Mustang Monaco; the Mustang Vatican. Would that be Pope Orsini, then? Or Pope Steve-O the First?

Now how could that upset me? You're insulting SMU, not SHSU.

Hey, moderators? How does that word for 'urinating' get to stay posted?

There's a Mustang Nation, too. It's posted on the SMU Athletic web site. Features photos of SMU fans.

I predict this game to be a lot like the UH game last season.
Two key turnovers late in the game and missed scoring opportunities kept us from winning that ballgame, eventually losing 31-10. Hopefully we will be able to take advantage of those opportunities again.

We only lost 12 seniors last year so we will return 16 of 22 starters for 2006. Second year for head coach should bring much improvement over 2005.

Someone asked if the Baylor OL transfer will be starting? Unknown right now, however he was playing with #1 offense in spring game from what I understand. Our OL should be big and physical this year with the possibility of two big boys anchoring the left side.

T Aaron Saunders 6-7,305
G Akeem Retig 6-5,350
C Ryan Dredtke 6-0, 284
G John Dirk 6-3, 285
T Lance Hancock 6-5, 295

After last year, things are a mystery at this point. We know we have the players, it just needs to all come together for this group. Kats have a very good young receiving corp, good arms at QB and some durable RB's Defense will be physical and fast. Secondary is our strength and DL is a question mark right now just because of depth issues.

Should be a good game. Don't expect us to lay down by any means. I think we had about 4000 to 4500 Kat faithful at Robertson Stadium last year for the UH game. Look for a good turnout at Ford Stadium with lots of orange in the stands.

To All Of You Who Are Predicting A Blowout:

When was the last time SMU blew out ANYBODY? I mean honestly, you people are up there talking all that garbage about how SMU is going to humiliate SHSU and are going to blow us out. You are acting like it is USC or Texas. In case you haven't heard lately, SMU is the laughing stock of 1A football. It is probably the worst overall program among all of 1A without a doubt. SMU is not supportive of football. It is a soccer school. SMU does not blow out anybody, and it sure will not begin on Sept. 16. If SMU is such a billy badass, why is that a "little 1AA program" such as SHSU plays better quality 1A opponents and actually competes? SMU last played Texas Tech when? Granted they did beat the hell out of us, but for the record, Sam scored more points against Tech than anybody except OU, Texas, & Alabama. And that was last year when the offense was the worst it has been in quite a while.

The bottom line is this. The people who are getting off to believing that SMU is going to blow out SHSU need to find better things to do with their life, and do some research about the overall programs/players. I am not saying that it is guaranteed that SHSU will beat SMU, but what I do guarantee is that SHSU is going to give them a run for their money, and there are going to be a lot of angry and shocked mustang fans, when the kats ride off into the darkness victorious.

I hope all you powder puff fans calling for this joke of a schedule are satisfied. I think I'll round up some Arkansas St and NTSU fans too for you to joist with. If you sit down with losers people will begin to think you belong.
