Oh, good god, the Tuneup. I remember (vaguely) those things. As I recall (again, my recollection isn't exactly crystal clear), they had a limit of two of those things in an evening. A friend of mine, who measured a svelte 6'6", 360 talked a waitress into a third (thanks to a very large tip, as memory .... barely .... serves). He was telling some story that he thought was funnier every time he repeated it, and at one point, he leaned back in his chair while laughing, and passed out. The waitress and I couldn't get him off the ground until I called a few friends on one of those fancy new microwave-sized Miami Vice-style "cell phones." Took four of us to carry him out of there. We were asked not to come back (at least not with him). But I'm guessing that recipe would be a big hit on The Boulevard.
NO! NO! NO! We want to get more people INTO Ford Stadium for the games...we don't want to leave them passed out on The Blvd!!!!

Soph year we heard of a drink similar to that called a "Pink Panty Dropper" containing vokda, lemonade and beer, which we immediately decided to make. We determined the name was not enticing enough to women though so we renamed it "Oral on the Lagoon" after "Sex on the Beach", which was very popular with girls at the time. The only thing more ridiculous than us thinking this was a good idea, was that one girl got all excited and said she had heard of it before. This is also the same girl that was on Snoop Dogg's Girls Gone Wild though, so lets say she wasn't in the Honors program or anything. By the way, we must have made it wrong bc it tasted awful- ended up having to throw much of it out.
Parkit Market is still open for business. Corner of University and Greenville. Hastys is what closed on the corner of Southwestern and Greenville.

Are there any pilots on here that fly to the Caribbean?
We can start having them stock up on the 151 and Blue Curacao. Oh wait, 151 is on the no fly list since it is so flammable. Looks like we need cheap rum, and twice as much.
Let's assume 100 people, 1 quart of Peruna Punch per person. Looks like we will need 12 gallons of red and 12 gallons of blue Punch mix. Assume 24 Bottles of Rum and 2 of Blue Curaco. So we are probably in for about $260. All we need is a sponsor for the ensuing wet t-shirt contest and we have us a new drink on the blvd. Or we sell a gallon of the stuff for $10.

It's okay, we'll just walk them in, Weekend at Bernie's style, and you know, they can "stand up and cheer" at the right times too.

I like blogger's "the Doak"... the "of age" bracelets could be emlazened with "W.W.D.D." - "What Would Doak Drink". Or tee-shirts that say The Drink that Doak Built. Or slightly funnier, The Drink the Doak Drunk.
All in all though, I think we should have an official Boulevard drink that we come up with. It would be a nice tradition.
thad i bought smu state champs shirt you made.. can you make a W.W.D.D. drink shirt?

No. The Parkit Market is on the corner of University and Greenville and was still in business last year when I was up for one of the games.
EDIT: Oh--sorry, I just saw MustangIcon's clarification on it.

I like this name and think we should develop a simple drink, with Tequilla and use the name Tequilla Mockingbird. If you want to actually establish a Boulevard Drink there has to be something that will distinguish it as a special item and this name could do this. So come on all you party guys.... Tequilla and _______. One mixer over ice. Simple, good and a great name.
PS. All of the mixologists out there, is there already a drink by this name?
My personal vote for a Boulevard specialty drink is one that I make all the time that I call a Beerita. 3 parts beer, 1 part tequilla, 1 part lime concentrate. It is delicious and gets you hammered. I know it sounds kind of crazy, but you really must try it before passing judgement. Some Blue Curacao could be added for color if wanted. Only problem is what about people who refuse to drink tequilla? Also, if any of my friends on here reads this- feel free to post whether you like the Beerita or not since I know it isn't exactly a household name that everyone has had.
I have had the beerita and it is pretty darn tasty and will get you pretty darn drunk.. i believe i have also added a splash of squirt (yes it still is for sale) and it really tames teh tequila taste

Also, there is actually a drink called the "Paloma" which is spanish for "Dove", made of silver tequilla and Squirt mixed together. Baccardi promotes it for their high end tequilla which I cannot begin to even spell. Very refreshing beverage.

The Tune Up: (care of Andy Zonner, long-time Filling Station and Mustang Band fixture)
"3 shots vodka, 3 shots gin, 3 shots blue curacao, 2.5 shots pineapple juice, 2.5 shots sweet and sour, lemon slice on top, mound of sugar on top of that, layer everclear on top and add fire"
You need alot of crushed ice or the lemon won't float so well.
Side note - most of the FS specialty drinks had this ratio, but with different booze/mixer. My favorite was the Overhaul.

Also, in case anyone is curious, the recepe for the Presidente Margarita from chilis: (also c/o the legenday zonnra)
1 1/4 ounces Sauza Conmemoritivo tequila anejo
1/2 ounce Cointreau liqueur
1/2 ounce Presidente brandy
4 ounces (1/2 cup) sweet & sour mix
splash Rose's lime juice
1. Combine all ingredients in a shaker with crushed ice. Shake
2. Pour drink into a martini glass rimmed with salt. Add a lime wedge and serve with the remainder of the drink in the shaker on the side.

I will, dude. Sitting down this weekend, and during the week next week... while I am supposed to be working. I most definitely will put together a WWDD shirt.

nah... that's What Would Doak DRINK
and speaking of what he would drink....
I'm all for the Peruna Punch, but the red should be stronger then the blue and have a slighlty different name. Maybe add a bottle of vodka to the mix.
BUT
I still think something a little more interesting for the official beverage. As we said before think Mint Julep.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Actually, I think a friend has a keg and a trashcan (freakin' hole in the bottom) in his garage that he never got around to returning. Missed his chance.
Long live the $61.60 Natural Light kegs!
