Interesting that an earlier SMU post in this or another string was bragging about how SMU single handed stopped NT from membership in the Southwest Conference and CUSA.

Oh and the other reason NTSU did not get into a better conference is that their graduates apparently cannot identify sarcasm and irony when it is presented to them.

Tell me this old NTSU guy, why do you believe NTSU needed SMU's help? Couldn't make it on their own merits, eh?

only way to settle all of this is to be playing UNT every year. I enjoyed most of those 27 wins against the mean green. last year they got #4. The truth is that we are no longer in the SWC and they are no longer I-AA, so it really would be a much more competitive series today. Let's start by winning in Ford next year and then see if we renew the series in future years. If playing UNT can help us draw 25,000 to Ford, I'm all for it

Let's worry about being "too good" to play UNT if and when SMU football becomes a top 25 program. Let's hope we join TCU at that level before UNT does.

no kidding. Know what else? How sad is it that SMU has like 6000 undergrad students, and the denton campus of the DCCCD has, what, 20000? And STILL averaged about what SMU did in attendance? Yikes!
