Got my Season Ticket Renewal today - New Blvd. PoliciesModerators: PonyPride, SmooPower I really do not think you would want XTC to come visit with you and the M-club Fundraising Final Tally party.
He is a very smart, witty large and strong MAN. He came to SMU as a ball player and has given years and thousands to his school. Service is what SMU lacks, the basic foundation of any business is service. I could tell you story after story. SMU wants more money. The problem is they do not know how to work for it. They just want yours. Mustang Militia: Fight the good fight"
I think we can easily please everybody in this endeavor and be fair and balanced. Everyone wanting to tailgate on the boulevard fills out the necessary registration papers (developed by an ad hoc committee of alums, fans, big donors, Meadows Foundation, fair weather fans, Bush Library representatives, and faculty senate members from the Perkins School of Theology). Each registration is approved or rejected by the SMU Board of Trustees. Upon approval, each tailgater is issued an ankle monitor ($400 ea. with a $200 deposit and a $99 activatiion fee for GPS service) to wear on gameday. That way, SMU Police can keep track of everyone and be sure they're in the right place. I think a strategically placed perch on the top of the Owen Fine Arts Center would facilitate snipers spotting violators and taking them out. Eventually, everybody would be where they're supposed to be and everybody is happy, happy, happy.
I think we are going to lose several of our most loyal fans and tailgaters over this one. I have talked to one group who feel like they are being "priced" out.
My frustration lies with the fact that they failed to directly pull in the people who currently have Boulevard spots and ask what we think should be done. Over the past 7 years, I have built a lot of great friendships with fellow tailgaters on the 'Vard. We have a real sense of community and we all share our diehard support for SMU. We have always invited passer-bys to sit down at our tent, enjoy a beverage, watch a little of whatever game we have on the TV, etc. and that has always been one of the best parts of tailgating - meeting and talking to other fans. I hope that this does not suck the life and spirit out of the Boulevard. "It'd be nice to see Jesse Henderson break one here."
I think jtstang offers to pay. He is just absent when the plate is passed. And yes, I am the Blvd moocher. But only because of the nice folks that allow it to happen. And I do drop some bucks intom the Big Tex tip jar at Special D.
Leave it to SMU to take something good and make it crappy. Whatever happened to the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" axiom? Modestly raise prices a little each year....add some more spots available for purchase if we truly have run out of reserved spots and have people that want to buy (which I really doubt, especially with these new prices, demand will drop dramatically instead of increase)....That is all they should have done. The post about the ankle bracelets, while funny, is my greatest fear, I dont want "yellow jackets" running amok everywhere waiting for someone to set up a lawn chair 1 inch over a restricted space and get on to them. If it comes to that, I will tailgate inside Milos and show up at kickoff. Of course, in pratical terms, we are probably working ourselves up over nothing...I bet all that will happen is they will throw up a more umbrellas that won't be used, jack up everyone's price and other than that, nothing will change, it will still be a free for all and the issue really boils down to them blindsiding the faithful with a huge cost increase. There will really be no pratical way to enforce all the spots and who should be where. Womack + Wishbone = Heisman

Bus until this year I used to walk down from the Moody parking lot and hang out at the Special Delivery tent for a short time before every game but this year they had us entering and parking close to the Stadium which always took a lot more time to get in or out. I'm a college football fan and if there is a good game on I really prefer to watch college football at home until game time. I don't drink before, during or immediately after games because I'm more interested in closing the bars down at closing time later that nite. Got to pace myself.
How do yo think it makes me feel to know I'm mooching off of an admitted moocher? Ehh, not that bad now that I think about it.
Mrydel - you are always welcome at my tent. And I don't consider it mooching. "It'd be nice to see Jesse Henderson break one here."
this also gives the females a head start on impaired thinking and might give you a shot...................
Thanks. Can I bring jtstang? ![]()
Looks like the idea of splitting a spot with Blog and actually paying for Season Tickets is out now. For these prices I can sit in the Mausoleum behind glass and eat SMU into Oblivion.

MERCY! I just got home, but some pretty heavy stuff here. Bus if you choose not to reclaim your spot, you are always welcome at the Special Delivery camp.
