Well, I'm in a good mood because the Twins just finished sweeping Seattle to keep a share of the AL Central lead. Big two-week roadtrip to the West Coast and Toronto.
They're gone that long because of the Republican National Convention in Minneapolis -- DAMN Republicans!!
By Labor Day week, they need to stay between 2-3 games either side of the White Sox to really be in it. The September schedule sets up for them.
Talk about holding on....
Yes, this post is absurd -- kind of like the whole stupid thread.

That's the problem with using message board posters as your source of inside info. You never know who is legit and who isn't. With a pay site like stampede you at least have a level of credibility.
You would have no more cred with a random poster on Stampede.com than you do here. You are refering to their staff writers as the credible sources, right? Well PF.com has PonyPride for credible information. What's the difference...other than that PonyPride is a hell of a lot better writer?
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

Because ponypride, who IS a far better writer, has a real job and can't pump out the volume of coverage stampede can. Has he put up a story on the QB situation? Nothing against Pride or ponyfans, which is an awesome awesome board, but I don't get why people feel the need to have a ponyfans OR stampede mentality. There is room/need for both, a high quality site like ponyfans, and a full time coverage site like stampede.

couch 'em, no biggy...I was just trying to clear up the fact that you were comparing reporters to random posters and the fact is both sites have both things.
They may be talking about the QB situation over there, but if it isn't coming out of JJ's mouth I'm not buying it and he said he would announce on Monday...so I'm waiting.

I'll simply say this, based on what I know and from the ponystampede chat, we're going to have a starting quarterback not named Justin Willis against Rice.
Back off Warchild seriously.

No matter who is named starting QB, he better be up to the task of beating Rice. and if JJ thinks a frosh can lead this team better than JW, im fine with that.
But lets just all keep in mind, this decision right here will either make or break this program in the direction it goes for the next 3-5 years.

If we lose to Rice and a true freshman throws a bunch of picks (or even a pick at a crucial time), then I can see the love for JJ going out the door on this message board real fast. If we lose to Rice and JW throws a bunch of picks, then folks will say, he went with a known commodity and lost. JJ has shown that he is an iconoclast (including hiring Jerry Glanville as DC-can anyone say "Calling Elvis") and will stick with his plan because its long term and if Bo is better fundamentally than JW or is better at reads than JW, then Bo will get the nod. That's just the way it works with JJ. He's going to pick the guy who has shown him that he's willing to do it JJ's way. We'll find out today. At least it will give us all something to argue about.

Merely being a pay site does not equate to credibility - I know, I used to work for one. That site has a long way to go - a very long way - before it acquires even a shred of the credibility the Dallas Morning News or this site have. I stopped visiting a month ago, and I haven't missed a thing, because if they ever come up with any actual information, it ends up here, anyway, and this site's work is infinitely better.
