StallionsModelT wrote:Yeah I've read that article. Thanks for posting. However, I do not think we are in the top six potential candidates for the Big East, even if TCU decides to go to the Big 12. P.S. What do you have against Rutgers calling them "Rutgirls"
Because they suck at pretty much everything. You may have been right a few weeks ago but now that the Big 12 missle crises has subsided and the ACC went Hezbollah on the BE, the times have changed. The BE cant be smug now. They have to patch the whole or become fish food. Our BE friends that are tuned in and post on our board think it is: Navy/Air Force (Supposedly negotiations are in process but no guarantees) UH SMU UCF (should be 1 but USF has a [deleted] for them) ECU (Already applied and has been met with a resounding "Meh") Last resort Temple Nova move up Gets uglier and uglier Even if we stay I would expect both SMU and Houston to receive invites fairly soon. We would only stay now if The Big 12 doesnt offer IMO. Things have changed.

So that will make 6 conferences for you guys in 15 years? Gypsies move less often than TCU.
Toads aren't exactly a bastion of stability themselves...I hope they join Big 12 and it implodes next year. Seriously, every conference TCU joins seems to get decimated within a few years.

Thanks for posting froglicious. Perhaps our best bet should TCU decide to go the Big 12 route is for South Florida to continue their blockade on UCF and for Air Force to pass. Perhaps the Big East would go with some combination of Navy, Houston, and SMU. Who knows.
Back off Warchild seriously.

If the conference is an autobid conference even on life support, we need to go there. Whether its the Big XII or the BE, we need to get there to be in position for the last round. If we're not, we're certainly on the list of the best remaining non-BCS teams. We then need to position ourselves in the best conference we can find and win. Independence will do nothing for us. And we'll end up with a lot of 5 home games and 7 road game seasons and Oct/Nov scheduling gaps. That is not a path to a great record.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna

If the Big East is not an AQ conference or goes away then CUSA needs to be proactive and bring in a few of their scraps.
Back off Warchild seriously.

Sometimes I get the feeling that the way UT feels about TCU is the same way they feel about us....
They rarely mention us as a canddiate, when they do, everyone says we sucks....frankly I can understand the fear, but both teams can co-exist and benefit one another....
However on equal ground now that we got our act together we would crush them and baylor...so I can understand why we are always shot down by both of them...

How many true rivalries exist between AQ and non-AQ teams? If we are left out, and TCU sits at the "cool" table, I could see them not wanting to play us anymore. Do we want to play UNT? No, because its a no-win situation for us. Why would TCU feel any differently?

We become the automatic win for TCU so no real downside for them

No doubt about conference hopping but we have to make the most of each opportunity that presents itself. 6 years in the Big 12 vs ??? years in the Big East (with unknown members) - it's an easy choice if you ask me.

At this point, I think we will take the invitation if we get one. If the BE was still solid with Cuse and Pitt then I think we would have stuck with BE.

Sure wish the "Big 12(?)" would get back to 12 by adding SMU, TCU and maybe BYU. That would make four private church schools in the conference, to go along with the 8 state schools. Can't figure for the life of me why TU wouldn't go along with that.

Beacuse I'm a petty, jealous bast@rd. And because we should have been hopping conferences and beginning our rebirth 10 years ago, not 3. If TCU goes B12, I sure hope the BE is still around to snatch us up. I was in school when TCU's lone win of the season came against us. People have such short memories, and they think TCU has been good forever. Blows my mind.

No need to feel jealous. They worked their way out of the hole they dug and are rightfully getting the BCS attention they deserve. If anything you should feel hopeful that if they could do it, so can we.

Yeah Reed, just giving you a hard time. We would be gone to ANY AQ in an instant, stability be damned. It's actually easier for me to attend away games against BE schools than to get back down to Dallas, so i'm all for it.
