I am not saying that. I am saying we may not be were we need to be on the defensive line. Go tell Hart to live with it, he is the one that wants to win conference and national championships. I just would like to see a bigger and stronger D line.

Agreed the NT must be a beast. He cannot give ground. 300 lbs sounds right. And the DE ideally should be around 290 and 6'5". However, speed and quickness can make up for some loss in weight on the Ends. May I remind you that Marcus Hunt was about 280. Yet his quickness and strength caused teams to double team him quite often. And, he still made big plays. I believe (regardless of position) quickness and speed are the number one and two attributes. Yet I agree that weight, height, strength, athleticism, etc. are important. Assuming all are good athletes, the first guy off the line has the edge. The guy with the quick hands has the edge. The guy who can fake out his blocker and run faster (to the qb) has the edge. I guess ideal is Marcus Hunt keeping his quickness at 310 lbs and 6'10". but guys like that don't seem to exist.

If we play against a bunch of running team them those big offensive lineman will wear down the lighter weight defensive lineman as the game goes on. Then by the 4th quarter they are not so quick anymore. But if we play against a bunch of passing team we will be better off. Kind of just depends on the teams we play this year imo.
