Seriously.

How hard will you be rooting for Montana State this weekend, Rebel? Have you and Stallion ordered Bobcats shirts from their campus bookstore? Will they arrive by Saturday?

So where did one take a wrong turn in life that their best option was Montana State?

Not a lot of football dicussion here. I know it's not exciting to play down (we feel the same way when we play D2 teams), but hell there are enough MSU fans to at least chat with!

Anyways, here are players to watch for MSU:

QB - DeNarius McGhee - SR 6' 210. 1st team All-American preseason pick, leading candidate for the Payton Award (Heisman of FCS) will be his 4th year as starter, has not missed a single game. Has thrown for 9,356 yards in his career so far, with 71 TDs to 31 INTs. Has rushed for 939 yards and 13 TDs. Two time league offensive MVP. Over 30 wins in 3 years.

DE - Brad Daly - SR 6'1 240. After taking a year off because he was unsure what he wanted to do, he came back to MSU and had a breakout Sophomore year amassing a league-leading 12.5 sacks despite being a 3rd down package guy. Production dropped last year because our other DE had a breakout senior year and won the Buchanan Award (top defensive player FCS). 2nd team All-Conference last year despite playing injured most of the year, he is finally healthy. He is incredible quick around the edge, but this year he is more of an all-around DE than just a pass rusher.

OLB - Alex Singleton - JR 6'2 240. How do you replace the league defensive MVP from last year (OLB Jody Owens)? With Singleton, a promising LB who has been waiting patiently to show what he can do. Very athletic, built well and flies to the ball. His first year as a starter, he will need game reps but many think he will continue the tradition of great LBs that have come through MSU.

WR - Tanner Bleskin - SR 6'3 220. You are going to see Bleskin, and think "what is that a skinny TE playing WR?". He isn't particularly fast, but runs great routes, somehow gets open, and catches everything. Not a guy who is going to rack up YAC, but if the ball is thrown anywhere near him he is likely going to come down with it. He uses his size well. Has 136 receptions for 1968 yards and 10 TDs in 38 career starts. He is what you might call a possession receiver, but ends up being the main target because of his reliability and ability to get open.

I'd love to go to Montana State, T. Have you ever seen the campus? Do you know what Bozeman is like? What the greater Yellowstone region is like? Nirvana for outdoors types like myself, for beer and coffee lovers. I'd take Bozeman all day, any day over Dallas.

I know many on here have seen my website: http://www.fireholecanyon.com

My best friend went to a CC in Wyoming, but it was near Yellowstone, so same area I guess. He said it was the best two years of his life and there was so much more to do outdoors, and we are from the Texas Hill Country.

Not a very impressive number I know, but we have 3 guys in the NFL right now. Dane Fletcher, Patriots, Zach Minter just made the roster in Chicago as an undrafted rookie DT, and Mike Person is riding the bench as a backup OL in Seattle. :)

We have some talent now and again.

And the best QB in the CFL is an MSU grad... 8)

If outdoors is your thing why set the bar low at Montana State? Get a real degree in a beautiful setting like Pepperdine, Colorado-Boulder, or something like that. Why get a degree that's the equivalent of UT-Arlington?

Number one because it's Montana. I could end the argument right there. But number two, your degree only matters until five minutes after you get your first job.

That five minutes is important. And while I won't argue that Montana State is beautiful, living there sounds miserable. I don't want to live in a place where the local AMC 12 is my best access to culture.
