I can't fathom why anyone would want to belittle Zach's accomplishments at SMU. He is one of our all-time greats. Period. I don't think that is hyperbole at all.

KC looked quick and strong on both the TD run and another important 3rd down conversion he got for us. He was a liability at times blocking in pass protection. I think both he and Line Jr. are good backups, but I want to see Shead play a whole game healthy when our O-Line has improved/gelled. A&M gave up a lot of yardage to both Rice and SHSU so maybe Shead can have a breakout game if he is 100% by then.

I think KC did well on pass blocking.

He got better as the game wore on, but had a couple of early no shows and even later in the game was slow to meet the guy he was supposed to pick-up putting more pressure on GG than there should be. He did step up on the final drive.

Not knocking KC by any stretch, I just think that Shead can be the complete package b/c of his size once he gets comfortable in the offense.

How do you know if he doesn't get the carries? I think he is an explosive player. Zach is a FB in the pros not a HB. What records did Zach shatter at SMU?

While third all time at SMU in career points and points in a season, he's tied with ED in career touchdowns. And he holds the record for points in a single game and touchdowns in a single game.

A fullback is still a back.

So how do I know K.C. would not equal or exceed Zach Line? I don't. But lets just say that with hundreds of other backs who've come to SMU and tried to reach that level of competence and failed, it's not likely. I'd love to be wrong. Maybe K.C. is that guy.

I guess all of you that think Nlemchi is going to take us to victories are on the K. C. and the sunshine band wagon.

Hopefully someone here is old enough to get that.

Okay, Zach has 2 records against a D1AA team. I wish Zach well with the Vikings and KC well with SMU.

Are you questioning whether Zach one of the best ever at SMU? In addition to the stats I gave above, he's:

#2 all time in season yardage
#2 all time in career yardage, more than 400 yards better than 3 (Reggie Dupard) and 4 (Craig James)
#2 all time in 100 yard rushing games

You think K.C. would even sniff those stats?

If he started and got the carries yes he could imo. For the record I saw Dupard and James play and I don't think Zach nor KC are better than either of those 2 regardless of the stats. I think Zach was a fullback playing halfback and the NFL has him at his true position where I believe he will do well for many years.

Zach Line is a FB-he always was a FB just playing in a Run and Shoot. He wouldn't have even played at TB for SMU from 1979-1985. He would have struggled as a TB in the I Formation 9 yards off the line of scrimmage especially against the 9 man lines SMU routinely faced. He would have been a great FB though

Whatever the staff did with Zach worked. Agreed with you and Stallion that's he's a true fullback, though.

So I'm trying not to be sarcastic. But it's going to come out that way, sorry. We've had this stud running back in K.C. who if only given the carries would find himself either number one or number two in the SMU all time record books for runners? I'm not sure I've seen enough of him personally to make that determination. But wow.
