0-4 with attendance (mostly visitors)will get us into a better conference? I guess those that say we should not play aTm are wrong.

First, it would be nice if we could win a game every now and then instead of cowering every time decent opposition comes along. But yes you are correct. At this time in the world of realignment, attendance is more important than wins. 10 years ago if we had started putting together winning seasons as did TCU we would be fine today, but we did not. Now we have a mediocre team with no attendance. Why would anyone want us. If we were packing the stadium then we become more attractive. If we put together 4 straight 10+ seasons starting this year we will find ourselves as the top rated lower division 1 team around. I would rather be a lower rated upper division team and work up from there.

I wonder would the upper division people would be looking more at the conference games to see how many actual SMU fans showed up or would they notice that in the old SWC that almost half the crowd may not be SMU fans? If they analyzed either it might not be good. UNT could fill a stadium with the right local teams but I don't think that would make the upper conferences look at them imo. Winning would help if we could just beat a ranked BCS team. We have an opportunity today.
