Re: Roster Analysis - What Morris has to work with
They also had 4 2-Stars and 1 no stars in that class after finishing (11-2) and 7th in the country in 2008. Do unto others before they do unto you!!
Re: Roster Analysis - What Morris has to work with
Did you watch all of their games? They had some good moments and lot of of bad ones too, especially against legit competition. They who would give up an essential liberty for temporary security, deserve neither liberty or security

Re: Roster Analysis - What Morris has to work with
Agreed. But, it won't happen because we "purge" the roster. It will happen because 1) Morris and Company add talent to the existing class by working their butts off 2) Take the roster and win a decent # of games next year 3) repeat and win more every year. Once we start beating up the AAC, things can really pick up. Do unto others before they do unto you!!
Re: Roster Analysis - What Morris has to work with
We won games because Margus and Gilbert covered up June's failure as a coach. They were that good.] ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() came here. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() June's not a Tiki God, and is a JERK for abandoning his team after 2 games this season, but June's goal was to take us to any bowl game in the 5 years of his original contract. He didn't fail ![]() May the forth be with us.
Re: Roster Analysis - What Morris has to work withActually I'm not Mr. Severt, but nice try. I've just heard good things about the kid. Based on our current roster of QB's, and Morris coming to town, I'd be surprised if he doesn't get a lot more reps in the spring vs. most of these guys that just don't fit the system. As far as Colbert, as has been mentioned here, and on the other pay sites, he may have struggled more than any QB on the roster this year. His offer may have been one of those Phillips/June/Houston favors. Wouldn't be surprised if he's one that leaves.
Re: Roster Analysis - What Morris has to work with
Anyone who says the high school Gatorade National Player of the Year is a clone of a guy with one offer either is June Jones or has a vested interest. Regardless, I think Morris goes and finds his QB before February because I don't think it's Davis or Kearns. BOP - Providing insensitivity training for a politically correct world since 1989.

Re: Roster Analysis - What Morris has to work with
...and Margus is currently playing in the NFL, and Gilbert actually got picked up as a free agent (IN THE NFL!) but you're going to preach about your evaluation of their talent? ![]() Classic
Re: Roster Analysis - What Morris has to work with
The bengals had to teach Margus a proper 3 point stance when he got to camp. I love Margus, but he disappeared a lot. It's pretty easy to fall in love with a 6'8, 280 pound DE that runs a 4.6 and can bench 225 40+ times. Why are we even talking about him? He only tried out for football because our track coach told him to. BOP - Providing insensitivity training for a politically correct world since 1989.
Re: Roster Analysis - What Morris has to work with
They got picked up by the NFL based on measurables (the NFL loves those). Gilbert is on a practice squad and Margus is still acclimating to the NFL (been largely invisible so far). Let's not act like they were stars or anything because they weren't. They who would give up an essential liberty for temporary security, deserve neither liberty or security

Re: Roster Analysis - What Morris has to work withClassic blackoutpony, trying to twist my words and criticize me for no apparent reason. Read exactly what I said idiot. A clone only because of his "nearly identical size and similar athletic ability." Not once did I say similar in talent, stars, offers, awards, or any other such thing.
The other very obvious connection here is that Morris coached Gilbert. I have no bias one way or the other toward Severt other than what I've heard, which is all good. Just trying to give my 'opinion' of the QB competition. We'll find out in the spring.
Re: Roster Analysis - What Morris has to work with
Once Gilbert got injured, how many games did we win? Zero. How many points per game did we score? Almost Zero. He clearly sucked. Do unto others before they do unto you!!
Re: Roster Analysis - What Morris has to work with
The same guys who said said that Severt looked good in practice suggested as the same thing. Do unto others before they do unto you!!
Re: Roster Analysis - What Morris has to work with
So he got hurt and we replaced him with a scrub that played like a scrub, put Gilbert in the HOF ASAP. They who would give up an essential liberty for temporary security, deserve neither liberty or security
