Seeing how that was from 1972 to 1986 and we were conference mates I don't see how that would even be possible.

Second as of 1986 the all time was 33-27 in our favor. Quite competitive.

Meanwhile when the SWC died we were 22-47 against pseudo-rival Texas. This we were dropped because it was only a rival on one side

Good point. Brain slip forgetting the old SWC. I miss those days.

I think yes, but less so. Being in the B12 helps against prestige issues, and I suspect they find benefit in playing in Dallas. No benefit to playing in Denton. Plus I'm sure their alumni like a good old SWC matchup. There is history.

I agree. With UNT we signed a 10 year home and home against a school that has only been division 1A for 20 years, we are 29-5-1 all time against them, a win against them does nothing for us and a loss really hurts us. Bottom line, UNT has a ton to gain, we have very little to gain. If Orsini/JJ really wanted this we should've agreed to a 2 home/1 away type arrangement.

At the end of the day, UNT at least did something that all of us wanted to do but couldn't: Got June fired.

On another note, when do schools typically start to talk about extending series? We have a few more years left with TCU but am curious when we would extend that out even further.

We aren't in any position to play empty games. Every future OOC game we schedule needs to have a purpose that can benefit the program.

I hope we are getting a Iarge paycheck to go to Ann Arbor in 2018, because we won't be getting a return trip from Michigan. These games against UNT, Ark St & TX St are a least regional, will be reasonably well attended and those teams will give us a home/home series. When you only draw 15-20k of your own fans, it's tough to get home/home deals with the P-5 schools. Be thankful TCU, Baylor & some of our other former SWC mates have given us those deals.
