No joke. I still don't understand it. Shake It Off Moody
Re: SMU Athletics Reveals Future Facilities ProjectsWhat was TCU's attendance prior to winning in the MWC? Not being cute, just curious
Re: SMU Athletics Reveals Future Facilities ProjectsI think the uptick in attendance will depend more on momentum. Students showed up well for first few games but after you're 1-3 getting ppl to show up for a game after an FCS loss is a tough sell. Most ppl have signed off.
Re: SMU Athletics Reveals Future Facilities ProjectsWe will see attendance improve once the quality of the program increases. In the G5 that means you need to win 10+ games, simple as that. No way around it, 7-5 doesn't pump anyone up especially being g5 and beating 2-10 teams.
Re: SMU Athletics Reveals Future Facilities Projects
Just wish they had started the PR blitz earlier. As we win people will come imo. We need to have a decent start to the season. #HammerDown
Re: SMU Athletics Reveals Future Facilities ProjectsBeat UNT, liberty, and Baylor and we'll get a decent boost. Lose any of those 3 (and realistically, we will) and It will be as bad or worse than ever
Re: SMU Athletics Reveals Future Facilities ProjectsGet over the idea of beating Baylor at their place. You have lost your mind if you think we "need" to win that one this year.
We have to beat who we are supposed to beat. If so we will win 5 games and have good progress.
Re: SMU Athletics Reveals Future Facilities ProjectsA win at Baylor is a stretch. Coming off 2-2 from out of conference is a must though.
Re: SMU Athletics Reveals Future Facilities ProjectsBeat UNT, Liberty, Tulane, and someone else and we'll get a boost (and I think we'll do just that). Manage to upset TCU or Baylor and we'll become the darlings the Big XII is looking at.
Re: SMU Athletics Reveals Future Facilities ProjectsThe answer to attendance is not alumni, its t-shirt fans. Winning will get a decent uptick in attendance but better opponents or a massive push to get DFW people to come to games is the only way we fill the stadium. I would be willing to bet that we are pretty comparable to most schools with the percentage of alumni that attend games. You need more t shirt fans like me and OTP to fill Ford.
Re: SMU Athletics Reveals Future Facilities Projects
The answer to attendance is playing a P5 schedule of teams that people in Dallas (SMU Fans or T-shirt fans) actually care about. If we were reasonably successful playing "real" teams, we would draw fine. - If we went undefeated in the Nobodis for 4 years straight, I bet we wouldn't increase average attendance by more than 5K per game. Why? Dallas people don't give a ... about beating Tulsa, UCF, USF, UConn, Rice, Tulsa, Tulane, or Texas State. Do unto others before they do unto you!!
Re: SMU Athletics Reveals Future Facilities ProjectsThe actual answer is to play teams that will bring 15,000-20,000. As we improve we might be able to squeeze some of them out.
All those who believe in psycho kinesis, raise my hand

You should have posted...
Re: SMU Athletics Reveals Future Facilities Projects
We haven't had a year in which we beat all of the teams nobody cares about in our schedule.
Re: SMU Athletics Reveals Future Facilities Projects
The last thing anyone needs is another OTP . Playing big names draws - But you can't beat them. Independent and just let everyone wail on you offering free beer??
