Herman is a helluva coach. Big 12 back to Oklahoma/Texas domination.

Hated to see any SEC teams win; however, had to reluctantly root for Texas to burst the Georgia myth.

ESPN owns the LHN but it’s a poor step child to SEC and now espn controlled ACC network coming on board this year. SEC apologist can cry all they want about Georgia not getting into Playoffs. Georgia should have taken care of business when they had the opportunities to do so. And this BS about Georgia not wanting to be in the Sugar Bowl, then why did they bother to show up? They could have silenced a lot of the critics by beating Texas but they didn’t.

I've always hated the "not motivated to play" excuse especially when it was Auburn versus UCF. It's like the SEC's insurance policy in case they lose. Eventually, you just have to tell them to shut up and sit down. LSU I thought was under-ranked. They're a complete team, however, for the "small conferences" starting QBs are absolutely critical as depth is always an issue. If you had Milton in the game, hell for just the 2nd half, I think we would have seen a totally different game.

Last night was tough to watch with the terribly biased announcing crew - and I hate Texas!

Tier 1: Bama, Clemson Tier 2: ND, Oklahoma, Ohio State, Georgia, Texas, Florida, LSU Tier 3: Michigan, Penn State, Syracuse, A&M, Washington, UCF Tier 4: The rest of the decent P5 schools, plus Houston, Memphis, Boise (top G5 programs) Tier 5: 5-5/4-6 P5 conference teams and the next level of G5 programs Tier 6: 4-6/3-7 P5 conference teams and 5-5 G5 programs (this is where SMU goes, can't lose to tulsa and be tier 5).

Army would beat half your Tier 3 teams. It'll be great to watch them beat Harbaugh next year. Possibly the most overrated, over hyped coach of all time.

ND would lose to everyone else on your tier 2 list plus all of the non big 10 teams on your tier 3 list. I agree we are not tier 4 but i think we are tier 5 at this point, Tulsa aside.

A&M beat LSU and would have the same 10 wins as LSU had they played a mediocre Miami instead of Clemson in the OOC P5 game. Also, Texas had 4 losses with one of those being to Maryland.

Interesting breakdown. I'd combine tiers 3 & 4. Tier 3 teams can (and do) lose to tier 4 teams frequently so the difference between them in negligible. As for SMU (and UCF), how would they hold up against a schedule of P5 teams in their tier? If SMU played nothing but P5 bottom feeders, would their record be over .500?

Sonny lost to a then 2-9 Tulsa team with a bowl on the line so... check back in in 3 years.

Can't put that one on Sonny. Hicks threw the game because he wanted out and didn't want to have to deal with the extra practices and bowl game.

This follows the same logic as the P5 Cartel excuse. I think Hicks just played extraordinaryly bad. This whole year was night and day difference to the previous year. We all point to his records but they were primarily achieved his freshmen and sophomore year. He just regressed after Frisco and couldn’t shake it.
