Is joisting anything like jousting?

Thank you for that mental image. Pretty funny, actually. A little frightening, perhaps, but damn funny.

Still waiting for somebody to identify a program that rebuilt itself without softening the schedule. I keep looking and I keep finding those schools scheduled I-AA and Sunbelt teams. I also keep finding articles on scheduling or rebuilding a program that mentions softening the schedule.

I don't know why scheduling soft is good enough for a rebuilding TCU, Tulsa, N. Illinois and SMU is above it. For non-BCS bowl teams of the past few years, it is also apparently good enough for: Air Force, Arkansas State, Boise State, Bowling Green, Cincinnati, Fresno State, Hawaii, Houston, Louisville, Marshall, Memphis, Miami (Ohio), Navy, New Mexico, North Texas, Northern Illinois, Southern Miss, TCU, Toledo, Tulane, UAB, UCF, Utah, UTEP, Wyoming (All bowl teams in the past few years that scheduled absolutely bottom of the barrel teams).

And you are on record from more than a year ago supporting the softening of the schedule this year.

Isn't it sad that we were one of the bottom of the barrell teams that at least 12 of those schools scheduled. (Although some were due to conference affiliation)

My criteria was simple: nonconference games against I-AA teams, Sunbelt teams and for good measure, Temple. I could have gone farther with it than I did by including Buffalo and a couple of others.

I am also on record as being in favor of this years schedule. This is a make or break year in the won/loss column. But I disagree with those who do not want us scheduling the UTs and AMs, etc. If you do not want us to be able to compete with them why are we in Div1A. We have competed and beaten these guys before and we can again if things are handled right from administration to coaching and everything in between. Harder due to BCS, sure, but doable. But I believe we must win some games to get the recognition of the top recruits. We have the facilities (yes it matters), we have the academics, we have the beauty (campus and the "fauna" as someone put it), and we have a thriving Metro area for thrills and excitiment. Now we need to show a dedication to a winning program and some actual wins to put it together. That is why I favor this years schedule but not a future full of underlings.

And now SMU needs to get fans/students/alumni into the stadium for these games.

Bottom line is this. SMU is dreaming. They are at the bottom of the barrel as far as 1A football goes. There will be no demolishing taking play on Sept. 16. However, I would bet the farm that the Bearkats of SHSU will ride out victorious. Go Kats

Your f'ing quarter-acre that your double wide sits on doesn't qualify as a farm regardless of how many goats you have, son.

Hahaha, lets take a look at our Personal Financial Statements and we should then see who has the double wide. Funny how you have nothing to disagree with me about SMU being the bottom of the barrel.

This is getting fun!

Ya'll's idea of what we're like is comparable to what we think of ya'll: a bunch of rich, snobby preppies who drive around in their BMW's and Hummers drinking Perrier with Crown Royal. Your girlfriends are like Dan Akroyd's fiance in the movie "Trading Places"...you have to make an appointment with her two weeks in advance for sex! Ya'll's idea of tailgating is having your domestic helpers deliver it to your skybox seats. And gameday attire is wearing the colors and letters of another school while watching that team play on national TV instead of attending your own school's game on campus!

We look forward to bringing more fans to Dallas this September (probably 4,000+) than your student body brought to all of your games combined last year!
