Interesting analysis. Last fall, I gave a campus tour to a very wealthy UT alum who's daughter is a TCU student. The part of the tour he got most excited about was the Indoor Practice Facility. We actually had to get out of the golf cart and tour it. His comment:

"Wow. This is much better than UT's indoor practice facility."

Then last winter, during the ESPN broadcast of the Poinsettia Bowl, Mark May made the comment:

"Earlier this season I had the opportunity to tour TCU's new football facilities. The Indoor Practice Facility and the new team meeting rooms are top-notch -- better than anything I've seen in the NFL."

Rece Davis was a bit incredulous, and said, "Really?"

"Absolutely, " said May. "They're extremely well thought-out and well designed."

Methinks papawasamustang's lukewarm analysis of the TCU facility is a tad prejudiced.

Go Away....99.5 out of 100 things on your campus are mediocre at best...

Wow, what an awesome story. Try again, and next time make it with the UT alum daughter chick in the practice facility AND in the golf cart, then come back over here and we might actually be impressed.

The idea we would consider a indoor practice facility BEFORE a new natatorium is amazing.

I heard the natatorium and redoing Moody will come before the indoor practice facility.

I'm sure we'll go with which ever one receives donations first. I'd bet there are 100 SMU Football fans for every 1 SMU swimming fan so I'd bet the Indoor Football Facility. Heck we might renovate Moody first too if someone wants to donate 20 million. Money talks. The money ain't coming from the university so the university won't decide the order.

TCU has a nice facility.. It's 100yds total in length. midfield is 40 yd line with 2 endzones.

Probably couldn't get away with tilt-wall consruction in UP so i dont think we could get done for the $7m they paid. Probably more like 15-20 to get it done on campus...

Il'l set up a paypal site today and get started on the fundraising.
