More June Hawaii Bowl talk per KateModerators: PonyPride, SmooPower Re: More June Hawaii Bowl talk per KateMaybe Arkansas in the Liberty.
All those who believe in psycho kinesis, raise my hand
Re: More June Hawaii Bowl talk per KateSo assuming we win the bowl game...which would give us a better recruiting bump? Hawaii or Liberty?
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.
Re: More June Hawaii Bowl talk per Kate
Are you forgetting that SMU does not control its destiny in regards to the Liberty Bowl? Unless you know for sure UH will lose over the next three weeks, how can you consider the Liberty Bowl?
Re: More June Hawaii Bowl talk per Kate
Boise State is not possible, as their fans complained so much about Boise State playing in the 2007 Hawaii Bowl that their players had to make public apologies to justify why they chose the Hawaii Bowl instead of their home Humanitarian Bowl. Boise State will be in a bigger bowl even if they do not make the BCS, like how they played in Texas one year and in the Poinsettia Bowl last year. Idaho has an agreement to play in the Humanitarian Bowl if they are bowl eligible (they already are) and Boise doesn't play there. That leaves Fresno State or Nevada.

It's not over 'til the fat lady sings...there are three games left for both SMU and Houston. Of course if you are happy with 6-6 and don't care about trying, then you don't consider the Liberty Bowl. Houston may very well win the rest of their games and we may very well lose the rest of ours...meanwhile I am going to consider the options and see what happens. BTW, we are not 6-6 yet either. Note to jtstang. I have no real expectations here...just wondering. SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. I could not agree more!
Re: More June Hawaii Bowl talk per Kate
Happy with 6-6? I wouldn't be as happy as 8-4, but 6-6 is far better than 1-11. Also, who said anything about not trying?
SMU could win their next three games 56-0 (which would make all of us happy) and still not go to Liberty Bowl. So since it is not within SMU's control, why worry about it? The key is what "choices" SMU will have on Dec. 6. Besides if the options aren't decided, why are trying to predict the impact of a bowl win? Talk about counting your chickens before they hatch! ![]()
Re: More June Hawaii Bowl talk per KateIf this team finishes 9-4 I don't care what bowl game they will have won
Re: More June Hawaii Bowl talk per Katehow about a 10-4 finish with a Liberty Bowl title to end what would be an incredible accomplishment for this bunch
Re: More June Hawaii Bowl talk per Kate
Still Sure about that??? Go Ponies Beat UTEP!!!! Here's to those that wish us well and all the rest can go to hell!!!
Re: More June Hawaii Bowl talk per KateHow is it out of their control? Houston lost...it's SMU's to take, correct?
