Meanwhile in 2011 we will be replacing our QB as well as many other starters while in 2011 I expect SMU to be even better than their upcoming 2010 team. While this year you are predicting a fun and competitive game in 2011 you may be predicting a victory. I also meant that I expect the series to become competitive in a few years, not just a game. I would love to see SMU-TCU be a battle of top 25 teams.
good post. even if the flu decimated tcu next year and we eeked out a win, 2011 is when we'll be talented enough to face off and start trading punches with these guys. might become one of the better non-bcs rivalries in the country behind the Holy War

I think every kid should use the system just as the system will them.
not quite as fun as beating the Frogs-only revenge worth having
yeah-- y'all ponies who retreat behind the "who won their bowl game" line must be whistling real loud past the graveyard of the last few of your own games against TCU...
But the whole point was this: if Patterson wants a guy who SMU (briefly) had, y'all must be improving a lot in football. That's a net positive for Frog fans-- it means our rivaly is coming back to life after... after an eternity on life support, or worse.
Welcome back to college football, Dallas.

Don't underestimate the value of the home game at SMU, even though we don't have 80,000 fans in the stadium it does make a huge difference at home and will come into play this year. We WILL be competitive this year and I also agree we match up better physically in 2011 and will be tough at TCU because of it.

Pre-1998 you guys weren't exactly catching the world on fire ... granted, you have done more in the last 12 years than we have, and you deserve the recognition you have gotten, but make no mistake about it, your success, in the grand scheme of things, is fairly new.
Sports, and all that implies.

The fact is that the SMU-TCU rivalry has been on life support for the better part of 4 decades. Easy to forget today that SMU won 15 in a row in the series in the 1970s and 1980s. Of course, in this decade its been the opposite. In my opinion, this rivalry hasn't lived up to its potential in my lifetime. But the potential is there. If SMU and TCU are both top 25 teams, that will generate interest in the rivalry beyond Fort Worth and parts of Dallas.
I'm looking forward to a sell-out at Ford in September. That's a good start.

You WILL be competitive this year, eh?
Define "competitive".
