The Razorback fans I know love coming to Dallas to play. There are lots of SEC alumni groups in Dallas.

I kind of feel sorry for him for making such an elaborate case and receiving so few responses.

Word has it that someone at the SEC has figured out that four of the top 20 spenders in college football — AT&T, Southwest Airlines, Dr Pepper and Tostitos/Frito-Lay — are based in the Dallas area and reportedly are interested in supporting SMU and/or the local economy.

hmmm, funny how only one of those supports our program. SW iv'e only seen on Stampede and does Dr Pepper do anything anymore - I don't think we have tapped into the corporate opportunities in Dallas at all.

Was just posting this as well. AA appears to be our airline sponsor, not Southwest.

We take SW charter planes - now that I think about it, I hear AA commercials mostly during bball season. Nothing from ATT that I know of.

...but you have to love...

It's inevitable...when (not if) the Big XII collapses, Baylor is going to be left out. Adding SMU allows Baylor to fill their spot in the Conference-USA. It may not be ideal, but it fits geographically and Baylor fans can take some solace in renewing rivalries with old SWC foes Rice and Houston.

I just fail to see the correlation between large corporate sponsors being based in Dallas and SMU's viability as a candidate. As someone pointed out earlier, they're not even supporting us now. Can you imagine the outcry across the South if word got out that Slive and company were even remotely considering SMU?
