Interesting June tweetModerators: PonyPride, SmooPower Re: Interesting June tweetThe stories are consistent across the board from prospects, coaches, and parents. SMU is just about the strangest program in the nation when it comes to recruiting.
Back off Warchild seriously.
Re: Interesting June tweetlol its very true if its coming from the paid site. they try to sugar coat everything to keep subscribers, but they wont go as far as to misquote recruits
Re: Interesting June tweet
More sugar coating on this site than any pay site. #HammerDown
Re: Interesting June tweet
It was a direct quote not an opinion. #HammerDown
Re: Interesting June tweet
So now you are in so much denial you assume people are making quotes up to make June look lazy? That's some powerful stuff man.
Re: Interesting June tweetThe "June" tweets keep coming, but our commitment count is still a goose egg. Great work, staff!

Re: Interesting June tweet
Pretty much. Definitely different approach in football recruiting it seems.
Re: Interesting June tweet
were not a destination school, most recruits will wait to commit to us and hold out for higher up offers. Im not a JJ fan, but thats how it goes with a lot of smaller schools. I dont blame kids either, Id hold out for a bigger program to maybe offer in the fall then settle for playing in front of 10 K people at Ford and for a coach that is probably on the way out. Re: Interesting June tweetPretty well known that he will probably not be back unless the season greatly exceeds expectations. It would be hard to get kids to commit early under that circumstance even if he was a good recruiter.
Re: Interesting June tweetBasically our situation has rendered an ineffective recruiter even less effective...the joys of a lame duck coach. Is it 2015 yet?
Re: Interesting June tweet
Wait, I thought we were talking about keeping in contact with the recruits....but maybe I am wrong. Seems to me it is basic fundamental recruiting to keep in contact with your recruits weather or not you are a destination school. It is all in the follow up. IF some go to higher up offers then fine, through the follow up,SMU is still with those that don't get the other offers they want. At least that is how I would do it.
Re: Interesting June tweet
The post you are quoting was in response to someone talking about a lack of commitments not a lack of contact.
Re: Interesting June tweetI see, Thank you.
Re: Interesting June tweetNot talking to recruits is obviously inexcusable b/c you are right, kids fall through the cracks like Gresham did and you have to be there to scoop em up when the higher ups dont take them and sometimes you even win a couple battles against schools like tcu if you win enough. Im just saying it isnt uncommon to not have as many commits as USC or bama would at this point in the recruiting season

Re: Interesting June tweetThis is going to fester all year which is what most of us knew would happen in a lame duck season. Both sides should have worked toward a reasonable settlement to get June's Bon Voyage Party over as soon as possible. Its a recruiting nitemare. I know what happened-but its going to suck for all parties. Its too late in Year 7 to make your first bandwagon tour of Texas-and it also too late for June to save his job-unless of course you want two straight lame duck recruiting seasons. UCONN, Tulsa and SMU fighting for honor of last AAC team to get commitment.
