Or when UConn takes a knee four plays in row on our 1 yard line, leading by 50 points.

I have followed SMU through other losing seasons, but this one feels the worst. If the 1989 team could win with as little as they had, then the problem is not just lack of talent.

Pretty sure we are worse than the years we didn't have a team.

Does this mean we won't get into the College Football Playoff?

Coaching (or lack thereof) is the main culprit. Don't be shocked if this team wins 7 games next year.

anyone hoping we could take down UConn in the season finale...did you notice what UConn did to UCF yesterday? we are on our way to making a little history as the worst SMU football team since the death penalty. Average margin of defeat for this year's team blows that 2003 team out of the water. Running out of "opportunities" to prove me wrong

Pretty sure it's the d3 talent we are running out there. But stay optimistic. It's charming.

It will be very tough to win anything next year without a viable QB and the defense that we have. Same issue as this year with no talent upgrade in the pipeline for next year.
