SMU Loves North Texas

This is the forum for talk about SMU Football

My father was a former professor and Dean at North Texas, hence my screen name.

My job? Executive management. My SMU employees? One worked as a retail clerk in one of our outlets and another in an admin position in another deparment.

Did anyone besides me find the humor in the post about SMU being a highly ranked business school because of its networking possibilities? Too bad they weren't celebrating the quality of education, and instead focused on the "inbreeding" aspect of SMU. You attend on Daddy's money, party through school on Daddy's money and get hired by Daddy's company.

The gay comments are also pretty rich considering Dallas has the second highest population of gays next to San Francisco.

For what it's worth, my good friend's older brother was actually told by a fortune 500 company that they didn't want his resume, because they have had such bad experiances with UNT grads that they will no longer hire them.

Well then, I'm sorry for both of your NTSU life sentences.

Amazing. Simply amazing. This thread begins as a spoof with the help of a little photoshop work and it's become a class war with no real salvos.

Allow me to run down the indesputable facts.
1)An SMU education costs more than an NT education...congrats, you pay more to be ranked higher in fields that NT isn't known for nor do we claim to be.
2)SMU students, without stereotyping, come from wealthier homes...again congrats...pop your collar, put on some plaid shorts and tell yourself that people really like you for who you are. No, really, I'm sure they do.
3)SMU spends more money on football per year than NT does...and the wins just keep on coming, right?

Now, let's boil this all down to the heart of the matter. All of the money in the world, all of the national business rankings you can muster, and all of your "the Sun Belt sucks" commentary can't erase the most important indesputabale fact...LAST YEAR WAS THE FIRST TIME IN THE PAST HALF-DECADE THAT SMU ENDED THE YEAR RANKED HIGHER THAN NT IN ANY POLL, OF ANY SORT, ON ANY PLANET. Hmmm, were the previous five years the abberation or was it perhaps last year? Ford Field truly is the prettiest home to a sub-par team ever. You have EVERY advantage, or at least seemingly you do, and you are still a punch line to everyone outside of Highland Park when it comes to FOOTBALL. We are still talking about football aren't we? Or would you rather discuss irrelevant garbage some more?

We'll know later this year now won't we.

And by the way there is not one third party source of ANY SORT, ON ANY PLANET that would put NTSU in the same TIER much less similar ranking regarding academics. It has nothing to do with class warfare. Just quality.

You are UTA with a football team, and now even that is over.

Oh wahh!

UNT'ers come to ponyfans.com to trash talk and then get up-in-arms when the retaliation of far better quality hits a little too close to home.

I guess ya'll can dish it out but can't take it, huh?

Pot calling the kettle black?

Let's see, a SMU'er in this thread throws out a line about North Texas and "weed," and I respond with a fact based response regarding your recent on campus speed lab and my post gets deleted? Seems to me the truth is killing the Ponies.

Hey I've looked at some of the SMU threads over on that NTSU board--I thought y'all specialized in garbage talk.

So looking at that list we are number 70 in the nation. NTSU however is considered a 4th Tier school that was unranked and in the same group as UTA, ETSU, Texas A&I, and Texas Southern. Apparently SMU is better. Go Mean Green and Mow my Lawn!

Hey this game is important to the Mean Greenies, why else would they be coming over here in droves. If we're such a bad team, why have you been wetting yourselves for 10 years to play us. Yes, the Sun Belch is a weak conference. You won it one year with a losing record. I see you guys jumped at the chance to join the WAC and play Boise and Fresno. How's that big rivalry with Troy State working out? If by some miracle the Mean Greenies win, it will be the biggest win for the College and University of North Texas in this decade. For us, it will just be a win. That's the difference and it will always be the difference.

I rather drive an older car that runs great than a car that looks great but won't start.
