I'm leaning toward agreeing with Dooby. First, you could hear the guy. That's a step in the right direction. Second, what the detractors are saying they'd prefer would be the droll, matter-of-fact, monotone voice of the 1st officer telling everyone to keep their seatbelts fastened until the plane is at a complete stop at the gate. Or worse yet the military-sounding voice of the guy at A&M.

PA announcers that have done well tend toward the over the top type anyway. Humble Billy Hayes. The guy who did the Bulls when MJ was there. Dave Zinkoff when Dr J was in Philly.

I like the new guy.

He is the reason I quit going to the Mavs games. I much preferred the guy from Reunion Arena.

What was the guy's name at Reunion?

Kevin McCarthy. He was greatness. Not a fan of his radio show, but his voice in old Reunion really worked well.

And he got replaced by Huble Billy for much the same reason as we have this guy and not generic PA voice.
At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Totally agree.

Loved his call after a timeout -

Kevin McCarthy put everyone to sleep. Humble can definitely be over the top at times, but there is no comparison between the crowd energy level the last few years McCarthy was there vs. since Humble took over. Of course winning has something to do with that too...

The new PA announcer will be fine as soon as he learns what to say. The old guy drove me up the wall when he'd constantly give wrong players credit for tackles, etc. This guy will be fine as soon as he figures out what to say and what not to (the hill???), it's just a part of trying to rev up the crowd a bit. Fine by me

PA guy can stay, just let there be SOME dead time between plays and please, for the love of Pete, don't utter the words "Pony Up" or "hill" ever again.

I went to an AirHogs game this season. Their PA guy was much more subdued. BTW try it out. Very reasonable prices on tickets and concessions. All of us had a good time. Not bad ball for an independent team. A couple of their players got called up to an affiliated team. Fun to watch Inky manage and I'm in no way a Rangers fan.

I missed hearing a single score from another game. At least last year they gave some. They were late and never updated, but at least they gave some.

But I still liked the PA guy.

Dooby, can you please add my complaint to your letter?

That's why I bring my iPhone to the game. I can check score in real time. I have never trusted those scoring updates.
