froglicious-

By your logic:

TCU should remove the physician from sideline duties for keeping a player under observation, rendering appropriate medical care, but failing to inform the HC of that condition.

If that were the sole issue, then TCU should relieve him of duties as one more distraction in a stellar season. But the failure of a doctor to share information wasn't what sparked this furball, it was the response/outburst by the Head Coach caught on a national broadcast.

"med jornal?" Not really sure what you are citing, but if you are referencing comments by the attending physician in follow-up reports(to media and the TCU admin), I WOULD be more inclined to give them weight over a press release/media moment by the AD of TCU that is doing damage control. The issue was strictly medical in nature...the idea that there is a timeline where the coach is to be informed is a moveable feast, especially when there is the potential for a brain injury.

Regarding again your comment to 'Soccermom', for a moment....you didn't call her a "soccermom", (if intended as a degrading term per your use) that is her/his chosen moniker/handle. Your comment that the poster was "clueless" because she would have taken offense to have her child exposed to that was poor form, and beneath you.

Lots of things are said on a football sideline that would offend sensitive ears or sensitive souls. This is a free forum to express ideas/opinions regarding SMU football..and those of our opponents. Defending your position (which you have) does not need to entail attacks that call into question integrity or competence of others that disagree.

The doc grandstanded, what? By defintion Patterson by getting in the doc face cussing him out and threatening him was grandstanding not the doc. Anyway glad you got you talking points. I guess you are making your round to each website to futher spread the propaganda. But you never answered why Patterson said this a whole day later.

On the day after the game, Patterson said: "As far as I'm concerned [Wesley] was fine 10 minutes after he was hurt."

Yes I did. That quote was in the context of "why was he upset". He said, after talking to EW, 10 minutes after the event EW was fine as far as he was concerned. Doc never explained otherwise until GP started yelling/asking why EW wasnt in the game versus our 3rd string guy. When doc said he was concussed GP lit him up for not letting anyone on the staff know. It affects play calling. Waymon James is an outrageous prospect but EW is the top line back. Doc should have told someone that EW was out. He has done this before unfortunately. Almost like he is asking for it.

Again, the Med Journal only took the doc's side and never attempted to get the School or GP's side. Enough said.

Since Alex knows someone that witnessed the event I believe him as opposed to you. The spin you are putting on this (or were told to put on this) is sickening. Enough said.

My "clueless" remark was in regard to her suggesting GP was the only person in the stadium that didnt see the play because he was tying his shoe or hitching his pants or whatever she was blithering. I thought we were having a discussion and I was providing TCU's side of the issue that was not provided by the Med Journal that wrote the initial story. She chose to take it into the ditch.

Ban me or whatever. I am generally supportive in my posts or just having fun. I really find it hard to believe that my response to her was anything other than funny. Soccer mom on a cell phone? In Kroger? maddening.

So Alex was running the chains?

Alex isnt exactly unbiased. He is the sole individual spewing his BS. Who is sickening? EW's helemt was taken away. Tons of witnesses watching GP go chimpanzee on the doc and zero, other than Alex working the chains, supporting the rumor GP demanded EW back on the field. Did not happen.

I am in the mortgage business. Tied in but not the way you suggest. I was there though. After the fallout, the coaches were fine with Waymon James but it did require some adjustments which is why "all coaches" were pissed.

Excuse me...are you saying the coaches didn't know Waymon was out there on the field and therefor didn't know to make adjustments in the play calls? Someone sent him there and surely it wasn't the Doc. Perhaps the coach that sent Waymon out there without telling Patterson should have been dressed down.
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

Who told the third string guy, who is going to be awesome, James to go onto the field? Did the kid take it upon himself to run out onto the field? Why and how did that kid know he was suppossed to be on the field? Why didn't the second string RB go out onto the field? My point in this is that somebody had to tell him to go. If they sent the third string guy out there somebody on the coaching staff had to know that Wesley wasn't available.

Froglicious all I am saying is that this "New" story smells bad. The truth is probably somewhere in between the BS coming out of FW and the original story. You are a diehard fan and want to "Drink the Kool Aid". What would you say if this happened at Florida, 'Bama, USC...etc? Would you blindly believe the this "NEW" story? Or would you believe that the coach acted like an unmitigated [deleted]? You are viewing this through Purple shaded glasses. From the way you have written on this blog in the past, you would be leading the charge saying, "The Coach behaved like an [deleted]!".

When Waymon went on the field the sh!tstorm started. It was supposed to me EW. He didnt have his helmet (which was news to the coaches) so the RB coach sent WJ in. At first they were pissed at EW for being disorganized. That is when the fireworks started. GP went China Syndrome because no one was told of EW's "condition". A RB and the RB coach got ripped first because the Doc didnt keep the staff informed.

True.

Not saying he wasnt a complete [deleted] to the doc. Certainly could have been handled better and we have a 7 page thread on KF.c saying as much. I am just saying, the part suggesting GP was demanding EW to go back in is false. Once the "C" word was issued it wasnt challenged. The fact that the coaches had to learn from EW prior to a play that he couldnt find his helmet created the tither. That was a tough, hard hitting and intense game. He generally doesnt need much to volcano. In that environment the poor Doc was simply kindling.

I think we all love this rivalry and it is going to get hotter. I think this is my last post on this matter though. Join the discussion on killerfrogs.com.

Now, regarding JJ to CU :?

froggie, you really believe that no one besides the doc knew that EW wasnt going back in? Seriously?

as for it being a hardhitting game, I thought it was ho-hum and GP couldnt believe how uninspired his team was? No?

Truth. Staff thought he was ok. The series in question, EW wasn't in the sideline huddle so WJ was sent out. Then the fireworks. The doc has admitted he failed to inform the coaches.

I didn't think ho-hum. Not as hard hitting as 2009 in The Fort but pretty intense. Then again, GP treats every frickin game like we have something to prove. I love it.
