Rumor swirling: BYU, WVU and L'ville to B12Moderators: PonyPride, SmooPower Re: Rumor swirling: BYU, WVU and L'ville to B12if Mizzou stays, I think b12 just adds BYU and is done for now. Disclaimer - I have no idea what is going to happen nor do i have any inside source.
Re: Rumor swirling: BYU, WVU and L'ville to B12my people tell me i don't know anything.
Re: Rumor swirling: BYU, WVU and L'ville to B12
More fun to make stuff up and see how many people believe you
Re: Rumor swirling: BYU, WVU and L'ville to B12Missouri will not go SEC b/c they know they'd never get to another bowl again ever again.
Back off Warchild seriously.

Once I tried to smuggle a Chupacabra in my luggage, but got stopped by customs. ![]()
Re: Rumor swirling: BYU, WVU and L'ville to B12
No big deal. Their fans don't go to the bowl games they do play in.
Re: Rumor swirling: BYU, WVU and L'ville to B12Regarding our attendance, while not a strong point it is in no way a deal-killer. As I have stated in the past, the bottom half of the BCS average 41k fans per game. This is with the benefits of BCS membership AND strong regional opponents. These lower tier schools receive attendance bumps from playing the UTs, Ohio St's and FL St's just as much as we would.
If I am not mistaken a Wash St-USC game drew 28,000 fans recently and no one is calling for their head. One other way of looking at this. Assume with BCS membership we only draw 31,000 fans...10k short of acceptable average...you telling me SMU would not purchase 10,000 lousy tickets to 6 games per year at $10 per ticket????? Give me a break...we can buy our way through this problem. Truth of BCS cartel...there are about 25 Super Teams, the rest are to some degree leeches. Why can't we be one of those leeches. We certainly have more to offer than 20+ existing BCS programs.
Re: Rumor swirling: BYU, WVU and L'ville to B12To complete my rant....
College Football has been tuned on it's head, yet somehow conventional wisdom is BCS schools (I'm talking you Baylor and ISU) go to the front of the line in talks about conference realignment? Why???? Strongly believe if all Top 100 programs were granted BCS status, SMU would consistently have Top 35 recruiting classes...and a Top 35 program. No way that statement can be made about Baylor or ISU, or Kansas or K-St. Nor SEC-rumored Mizzo or PAC-12 rumored Ok-St.
Re: Rumor swirling: BYU, WVU and L'ville to B12I'm not saying your wrong, SoCal, but the problem with that argument has always been that's what everybody says Just let us in. Look at Cincy. Look at Louisville. We can do it, too. There is some truth to it, but it doesn't distinguish us. Meanwhile BYU, who averages over 60,000 people per game on their own, is being actively sought out. And frankly, sometimes it is BS - I've used Memphis and their failure to show up to homegames with all their advantages as an example. So we can't just use the 'all we need is your support' argument.
Re: Rumor swirling: BYU, WVU and L'ville to B12ECU sold out for UAB this week
"With a quarter of a tank of gas, we can get everything we need right here in DFW." -SMU Head Coach Chad Morris
When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.
Re: Rumor swirling: BYU, WVU and L'ville to B12While ecu is the bastardd stepchild of the NC schools, they have very serious fans for football. Plus in eastern NC, what else to do on a Saturday afternoon?

Re: Rumor swirling: BYU, WVU and L'ville to B12Are they the Tech of the Carolinas?
Re: Rumor swirling: BYU, WVU and L'ville to B12Yes they are, exactly like Tech. Large state school full of kids that couldn't get into UNC, NC State, or even most of the UNC system schools. Dated many girls from there.
Re: Rumor swirling: BYU, WVU and L'ville to B12ecu is close to tech, but better. Yes, kids may land there, but some of their programs are top notch, plus the medical school and center are excellent. One drawback they have is endowment is small.
