Re: Greetings from the Mean GreenSince this will be both teams first competitive game, maybe we can get this back to something constructive instead of comparing our small football penises.
We loss A LOT from last year's bowl team. Replacing our QB, 2 starting WR, and starting RB (although we will be fine at RB. Lots of depth) on offense and 6 of our front 7 on defense, including our entire DL. The DL is a big concern because of a lack of size. This season will go as the DL goes, same as last year. Strengths are OL, where we have 2 linemen on the Lombardi watch list and return 4 of 5 starters. I suspect you guys to load the box and dare us to throw a forward pass, which will be a dicey proposition this year. Our secondary returns 3 of 4 starters, including both starting CBs, and should be very solid. Keep an eye out for Tee Goree, an incoming true freshman who I suspect will start immediately at WR for UNT.
Greetings from the Mean GreenI went to the HOD Bowl last year. Good crowd from UNT, UNLV brought nothing. Yeah, UNT won in a blowout, but that was more of an indictment if how awful UNLV was than anything else.
Got a feeling UNT will beat us. It's early in the season and we won't be used to hitting yet.
Re: Greetings from the Mean GreenNice backtracking. You've been taking potshots at SMU stereotypes throughout this entire thread. And yes. I will gladly brag that SMU is in a conference with a TV exposure package that is about 1000000000000000x what UNT and Sun Belt 2.0 enjoy.
There is no way around the $84M screw up. That will be seriously debilitating to a university like UNT. Is the endowment up to $200M yet? But hey. If going on an SMU message board and spraying internet diarrhea in every direction gets your rocks off then have at it. I bet you get laid a ton. Back off Warchild seriously.
Re: Greetings from the Mean Green
I'll check out now. I was hoping to find some knowledgeable fans, instead just the typical stupid internet drivel. As far as my getting laid, maybe you should ask your wife.
Re: Greetings from the Mean Green
Ooooohhhhhhhh! The ol' ask your wife that I never met line! Going back to middle school for punch lines now?
Re: Greetings from the Mean GreenI scoff at UNT's $84 million controversy. What's our endowment at now, $1.3 billion?

Re: Greetings from the Mean GreenWhich recruit (s) has UNT beaten out any AAC school for?
Re: Greetings from the Mean GreenCalm down. Am I the only one who understood that MG said that in jest?

Re: Greetings from the Mean Green
This year (2015): DE Sam Miller - Lots of offers, including K St., Memphis, Houston among others S Cade Irwin - A direct win over SMU, by the way And them there is the theft of one of your starting OLs, Sam RIce. Last year: Transfer Anthony Wallace - played as a true freshman at Oregon. He had a few offers: https://rivals.yahoo.com/texas/football ... lace-85198 Caleb Chumley - also had just a few offers: http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/r ... ley-150034 Tee Goree - Colorado offer. Ya, it's only the Pac 10, right? WR Jalen Adams - had offers from Indiana and Tulsa (AAC) And for historical reference, you may have heard of a current Dallas COwboy named Lance Dunbar. Again, no AAC offers, simply better: http://sports.yahoo.com/footballrecruit ... nbar-59427 You win some, we win some, but both of us compete with each other for recruits. It would be ignorant to think that we don't. On a side note, I can't believe this thread is still on page one of your fan board. I think GMG.com's football page has cycled through 4 pages since I last checked your board.
Re: Greetings from the Mean GreenThis UNT troll is even dumber than I originally thought.
We signed two safeties (Sutton and Jeanlys) for 2014, have another safety (JR Reed) greyshirting this year, yet another safety (Cristian Williams) committed for 2015 plus five WRs and don't have a lot of scholarships to give this cycle- in other words, Erwin's offer from SMU either as a DB or a WR wasn't committable when he settled on UNT. Also, congrats on your "theft" of Sam Rice. He was one of the weak links on our underachieving OL last year. That's quite a heist for you guys! Didn't he get run out of SMU because of weed? 2005 PonyFans.com Rookie of the Year Award Recipient
Re: Greetings from the Mean GreenThis guy thinks they are Florida State. You beat UNLV in the Dallas Cheerios Bowl. Congrats...get over it. UNT is a nobody and SMU is quickly becoming that. WE GET IT.
Re: Greetings from the Mean GreenIrwin's offer has been off the table for a month.
As far as stealing Sam Rice? lolz. Sam was a stoner who didn't like going to class. He'll fit right in at NTSU. Back off Warchild seriously.
