Jimmy Tubbs to Throw Out First Pitch at Tomorrow's Ranger Game

SMU head men's basketball coach Jimmy Tubbs will throw out the first
pitch Tuesday at the Texas Ranger-New York Yankees baseball game. The
game gets underway at 7:05 p.m. central time at Ameriquest Field in
Arlington, Texas. KDFI will televised the ballgame.

Tubbs was named the 15th head men's basketball coach in SMU history on
March 26, 2004. Tubbs and the 2004-05 Mustangs will be announcing
their schedule for the upcoming season in a Mustang Insider in the near
future.

That's cool!

I mean, the Rangers do nothing for me, and I really hate the yankees, but still .... when's the last time an SMU coach threw out a first ball? And you figure with NY in town, there will be a huge crowd.

Whoever arranged this - great job. Congratulations, Coach Tubbs!

Combo slider and jumpshot. Absolutely unhittable.

As long as he doesn't throw like John Kerry, he'll be fine. Did anyone see him try and throw the first pitch in Boston a few weeks ago? Really bad.

He throws about hundred times better than "hope is on the way" Kerry.

I saw Dubya throw out the first pitch once. He threw HEAT.

Whether you like Dubya or not, no one can deny that they got goosebumps when he threw out the first pitch, in the World Series, in New York, right after 9/11. And it was right down the middle of the plate.

Now, off politics, pretty cool Tubbs got to do that. And at a big-time game no less.

I'm sorry I got us off that direction, my main thought was to hope that Jimmy did well. Throwing the first pitch can be an embarrassing moment.

Actually Kerry throws the ball well. He just changed his mind during his windup as to whether to try fastball, slider or curve.

By the way was anyone at last nights' game to see Jimmy's moment in the sun? Without attempting to besmirch the female gender, one sports reporter here said that Kerry threw like a girl which pretty well sums it up.

his fast ball was high and wide - he seemed to be having a great time - he was joined by his son and by Robert Lineburg

Actually, he had a secret plan for which pitch to throw.
