4 reasons why we are a \"JV team\" this year

So - Fr - Sr - So - So

Those kids have talent, but it has to be the youngest starting line in the country, right?

We will struggle early, not only because of the schedule but also because it is gonna take a while for that line to mature. By the end of the year, I think SMU will be playing better. We will win some games, and possibly sweep the last three games of the year if things come together and we don't suffer a lot of injuries. A win over Rice or SJS puts us at 4-4 in conference, which is as much as we should hope for this team.

Next year, however, I believe SMU is gonna have one heck of a football team. Jr - So - So - Jr - Jr looks better. And Jrs and Srs at QB, more experience in the receiving core, and we have depth to replace Adami and Munlin. No graduates in the secondary. The first year in Conference USA will be a heck of a season for the Mustangs.

I was going to add: "who is the senior?", but Mickey clarified that Kieschick has 2 more years. And...until we see who hits the field against Tech, are we ruling out the possibility that another Jr ( Eidson) or even 2 RS Frosh guards are in that starting lineup?

Any way you cut it, the future looks promising for both lines compared to what we've seen the past couple of years

Sorry about the BK mixup, he is a Junior. Eidson is gone, not in the mix anymore.

Just wanted to make sure people realize that our offense and our line will struggle again for the first few games. We shouldn't be too harsh on them. This season has 4-7 written on it, at best.

Jason, just 4-7???
Our defense has looked okay so far (yeah, just practice).-- But this is not WAC's strongest year.

Yup 4-7. OSU, TT, TCU, Boise St, Fresno St would all be considered MAJOR upsets if we won.

The rest of the games are UTEP, Tulsa, Rice, Nevada, Louisiana Tech, SJS. Tulsa was much improved last year. Rice is some coaches choice as an upset team in the WAC this year. UTEP should be bad, but who knows what will happen under Price. Nevada and SJS are winnable games, and so is LT, who I think already lost their QB. Winning 4 out of those 6 games would be a big step forward with such a young offensive line.

this might be irrational, but Tulsa better not come into Ford and beat us. We owned them for too long and they cant be that far ahead of us all of a sudden. It will be those kind of games that make the season respectable and keep Bennett on track in terms of recruiting.
