Swann missing from broadcast?

I was looking at The Ticket's website, which tells of how SMU games will be broadcast again this year. Problem is, it read "Rich Phillips calls all the plays..." Does this mean Craig Swann isn't part of the team this year? It was nice to hear a true homer during the game even when we were getting pounded.

I was under the impression that Swanny would be back again this year! Man, I hope he's not stepping down. He's a great addition to the broadcast.

Of course, it's probably just a case of The Ticket pimping their own (Phillips) and ignoring everyone else.

Media guide says Swann's still on. I get a hugest kick out of that guy. I look forward to hearing his comments on how crooked the Big 12 refs are.

I loved it a couple of years ago when Vic Viloria (I think) buried someone with a hard hit and Swann announced that he'd just "run slap over him."

Not sure what that means, exactly, but I nearly drove off the road laughing.

those of us in east texas know exactly what is meant by "being run slap over". it gives us the perfect visual.

SMU said he will be in the booth this year.

Yet another example of the Ticket giving a middle-finger salute to anyone who's not a station employee. I'm glad the Ponies are on the air, but they sure don't do anything to promote the games.

That would be inaccurate-they are playing a commercial numerous times each day promoting their special promotion for the SMU game which is a damn good one-One Ticket to the Tech game, one voucher for a future game, a free hot dog and drink for $13.10. Let's give em credit when they do something right. I only listen maybe an hour each day and I heard it every day.

Playing a commercial I don't believe qualifies as doing something right.

Completely disagree. This is a great promotion because it will not only help get more people to the Tech game, it will also give people an incentive to come back to another game (with the voucher as part of the deal).

I would agree that in the past they have not done much to help promote the program and the fact that they are the flagship station for SMU football, but this is definitely a good thing and they are really pushing the promotion on all of their shows during the day.

Don't get me wrong, SMU has no one else to blame for its dismal record but itself; however, I just don't think a commercial qualifies as doing something good.

The only thing The Ticket cares about is negative news , whether its SMU, the Cowboys, Rangers etc.... Bob and Dan are the biggest idiots on the radio, and there are alot.

Too bad Norm can't start his own radio station and actually talk about sports most of the day.

They actually air that ad pretty frequently. And it's pretty catch with the Norm drops about horseracing.

Any pub is better than no pub at all.

What's wrong with Bob and Dan? IMO, they have the best show on The Ticket, but I could care less about the other shows.

Rest assured that the Ticket is running those commercials because it is being PAID to run those commercials. They aren't in the charity business. And every time those afternoon morons badmouth SMU, it does more damage than the commercial does good.
