Interesting that the Tennessee Titans posted this story this week about Leach's 'Homerun Throwback Play' against Texas Tech in 1982.

you'd have to be there to believe it-because it caused pandemonium from one side of the field to another-and from one sideline to the other. From Blane Smith and several deep backs rolling around in celebration on the SMU 15 to Bobby Leach being mobbed in the end zone 85 yards away. The contrast of shocked disbelief on Tech sideline to a unbelievable celebration for SMU. From the deepest despair (and a few tears) of a devastating tie which would ruin a national championship drive to a miraculous deliverance in a "lucky 13" seconds on the final play from scrimmage. A fan is lucky to experience a game like that every 50 years or so. I've gone to all the other big SMU victories in the last 40 years or so but nothing comes close to that blustery day in West Texas.
