The Diesel

If there is a coaching change, we need to make sure Chuck Faucette sticks around as strength and conditioning coach. The guys look bigger and stronger than ever before, and we need him to continue his program. Regardless of who the coach is next year, Diesel is an asset the Mustangs can not afford to lose. (Congratulations to Diesel - your Maryland team is 5-0!) Diesel is young, a hell of a strength coach, a great motivator and recruits seem to like him. Keep him here and let him grow with the program.

I agree totally - we need to keep The Diesel. Besides getting the players much stronger - he is a great motivator!!

He is one of the best things to happen to Mustang football!

As a Maryland season ticket holder, I can tell you it can't hurt to have some UM blood roaming the Hilltop. Maybe he can get Coach Friedgen to come talk to the troops?

In fact, I'm thinking about an all-Maryland coaching staff:
Quarterbacks: Frank Reich (over Boomer Esiason, Stan Gelbaugh, Scott Milanovich, etc.)
Running Backs: Lamont Jordan (yeah he's an NFL rookie, but he can't wait behind Curtis Martin forever, can he?).
Receivers: Jermaine Lewis (no future with that fly-by-night Baltimore Ravens club -- and Renaldo Nehimiah was a track star who played football, not a football player).
Tight ends: Frank Wycheck (can teach how to throw the lateral on kickoff returns, a la the Music City Miracle).
Offensive line: J.D. Maarleveld - never heard of him? Played with the Diesel at 6-7, 340. Can suit up in a pinch if he can't coach.
Defensive line: Randy White - enough said.
Linebackers: Diesel (he's man enough to do double duty between the 'backers and his strength/conditioning work)
Seondary: Chad Scott (playing for Steelers has to be frustrating, even though he's a great player. Time to start planning his next career)

Nice story on Coach Friedgen in today's DMN. The man can flat-out coach. Good luck to the Terps.
