I visited with Reid Parker at the Mustang Club about 4:45 pm and he told me he expected butts in seats, standing, and sitting in the south end zone grass to exceed 35K.
It's a great time to grab some attention Ponies!

That's why this is an update. We're well beyond a sellout and will be reaching fire limit size.

That is good news however I would imagine a lot of SMU folks will be out of town - Season ticket holders, etc.

This season ticket holder is out of town but there are two Pony fans in my seats. Good point, though...I hope its not 22kTTU fans 10k Pony fans.

To our stadium neighbors:
In 74...we politely said, "keep your cheering to a dull roar"
(they did)
In 82, we proudly said, "get out of our house...jerk"
(they did)
In 89, we humbly said, "you're as guilty as we ever hoped to be"
(they were still in denial)
In 04, we should say, "unless your a Mustang, your not welcome here"
(we've got their money...who cares...FINA 2304)
GO MUSTANGS!

The problem is that if you depend on Mustang fans and the student body, we would be lucky to have 12K at a game. Hopefully as Bennett gets this program headed in the right direction, SMU fan attendance will increase so that we don't always have to use Big12 rent-a-fans.

Wasn't it you who was predicting this is Coach Bennett's last year?
Anyway, word is SMU athletics officials were meeting today with the fire marshall to determine how many tickets they can sell for the grass! (Somewhere Woody Norris is trying to locate a new destination for his next fireworks extravaganza....)
This will look great to recruits. Sure, there will be a bunch of red and black, but the joint will be jumping. Can't wait. FOOTBALL IS HERE!

No, I don't believe that I have said that this is Bennetts last year. It is time for this program to start showing some forward progress by winning 3-4 games so that there can be some positive momentum heading into CUSA.

Once again...backpeddling.
