anyone out there listening tonite? If so, might I suggest a single thread for comments as the night unfolds?
I've got the TV tuned to the weather channel watching the hurricane and bouncing back and forth between the televised games, but will be listening to the Ponies. After spending days cutting up trees after tropical storm Gaston (and looking at my den carpet rolled up after it was soaked), I feel sorry for everyone in Fla and what they are going thru) I'm ready for the Ponies home opener to focus on something more enjoyable. At least let's hope tonite's game will be enjoyable for Mustang fans.

boy, you hate top see Tech run the length of the field on their opening drive, but what a huge break to have them come away scoreless. Now, do we have an offense this year?

Just go to the live stats on the
www.smumustangs.com site. It's fast and keeps up with the game.

good to see you still following the Ponies, PPP. How's your son doing? Is he playing somewhere?

merely pointing out the encouraging nature of the start...which continues to be encouraging.

drawing 1st blood is always a good thing. Let's hope we've got enough to play with these guys for 60 minutes...or more if necessary!
Meanwhile, an interesting defensive lineup to open this game. More speed on the field than we've seen in years.

Charleston,
He had knee surgery from an injury during Spring training at Texas A&M Kingsville. He is taking the year off to rehabilitate it. He hasn't decided where he wants to try to walk on, but it won't be until next Fall.

Give it up for this SMU defense, folks. Stuffed them on 4th down 4 out of 5 times. Now if we can only get us a touchdown...!!!

Must be doing something right. TTU has 227 total yards offense and SMU has 108. But the score is only 6-3.

Ummm... that's not including the TTU penalty yards, correct?

Actually, that is a different stat, so I didn't include them. However, if you break it down, SMU has only allowed 6 yards rushing. Not bad!
Added: Besides, there is only 33 yards difference in penalties between the two teams.
