I like this quote..."We're not a team that kneels on the ball or runs the ball up the middle," Cumbie said. "It's a different philosophy. If you don't like it, stop it."
Ummm...... I think we did. Way to go Ponies! That was the proudest I've been of our guys in a long time. They showed a lot of heart.
Now that is the right attitude. Bennett could have really used that as motivation rather than throwing a tantrum.
QuoteApparently you guys didn't stop it enough or else we wouldn't have to listen to all of you Ponies crying like little girls about us trying to run up the score on ou.

Nobody is crying about you running up the score - mostly because you couldn't - not for lack of trying. And believe me - we have lost by LOTS more to far worse teams then yours without anybody losing their cool around here - We are pissed because you are firing into the endzone in the last few seconds, when the game was put away - which nobody does except trailer trash.
Tech had the game won, 27-13. Not a single person has been able to yet justify the reason for trying to put another TD on the scoreboard with :05 left.
Re:
no doubt it was because Tech was supposed to blow us out and had it been 34-13 it wouldve made Tech look a lot better ![]()
SMU Womens soccer 2003
SMU Trounces Sam Houston State, 10-1 Kim Harvey Scores Three Goals, Two Assists Why didn't yall let up? Please explain
Re:Well, now you've REALLY opened up the door, WD. Sam Houston State is my alma mater! ![]() Are you really comparing a women's soccer game to a football game? ![]()
Re:
I think he is ![]() ![]()
Well..yall keep saying it is about sportsmanship. So is it different in Women's soccer. Did the Sam coach charge your coach after the game and yell, I hope yall get your a** kicked... Is it different '65? If it is, then I am wrong, but tell me why.
Re:
Yeah genius, it is different in soccer, you can't take a knee and run the clock out. I seriously doubt the women's soccer team was running a 'hurry up offense' with 20 seconds left to tack on a meaningless goal. Comparing football to futbol is the most idiotic point I have heard on this topic yet. Go back to your playstation and run it up all you want, since that is probably all you know about football. I guarantee you, on the off chance that Leach was winning by 3 points in the Big 12 championship game he wouldn't be running the hurry up. He would kneel on it and go home with a win. But of course, then that wouldn't be the way he coaches right? That guy is a no class bum, no other way to put it. Just stick your head in the sand and believe it was ok, since it makes you feel better.
Re:I wasn't at the game - played on August 29, 2003 - between the Bearkats and the Mustangs. (Man, you've got too much free time on your hands to dig so deep for this one!) So, I don't know if the Lady 'Stangs scored one more time on the Lady 'Kats with :05 on the clock or not. I have enough confidence in the Mustangs' coach to believe that he did not do something like that. If he did, I'd be disappointed and be the first to call it unsportsmanlike. Here's a link to the SHSU Lady 'Kats Soccer team home page: http://bearkats.shsu.edu/soccer/first%20practice.html The Lady 'Kats will have another chance at SMU this Friday, September 10 in Dallas.
