Just think if we beat TCU and stay close in the Oklahoma State game...how packed we can make that stadium againist San Jose State esp. since that better be a win

there will probably be about 10,000 for SJSU-no more than 12,000. Let's not commend our community for something they didn't do. I'm being charitable by saying there were 14,000 SMU fans at that game. It was PATHETIC.

at least that Tech crowd should guarantee SMU will average 15k this year. I agree the attendance could be weak for San Jose, although it offers a chance to witness a win. I hope this is going to be a promo game and that we might approach at least 15k. Only way we see that 18-20k is if this team fids a way to pull off a huge upset in cowtown next week.

I'm hoping for 15,000 at the San Jose game. Season ticket holders need to give away those 4 end-zone tickets to football fan friends who wouldn't normally go to an SMU game, and are interested enough to show up. Volunteer to come by, and give them a ride.

We need to average 10,077 fans a game to attain the magic 15k/per game average. With minimal success, we should reach this. I think we should aspire to attract 20k a game average this year (16,327 fans needed per game to reach it).

I did the math based on the percentages of Tech fans vs. SMU fans. I heard this through someone who works in the broadcast booth, and I believe they got the stats from the ticket office.

In any event, sounds like Stallion is right on the money. The guess is that there were a little over 14,000 SMU in attendance.

I hope... HOPE... that all the SMU fans in the Metroplex who didn't make the game because they were expecting a blowout now realize that they REALLY missed out. SMU/TCU will be a good contest, so GET OUT TO FT. WORTH on Saturday!!

Based on Saturday's performance, we should beat San Jose State. That's our next home game and the first conference game. There's no way we should have less than 14k on hand. Season Ticket Holders, USE your 4 free tickets. We need red/blue butts in seats!!

Attendance won't be bad ...

I'm a lurker on the board but wanted to point out why I think 15,000-18,000 might be accurate.

Attendance will be higher than a normal game. This is Family Weekend ... Family Weekend normally boosts attendance b/c all of the students parents and siblings come to the game.

I think last year the Family Weekend game brought 21,000 when we played UTEP.

Buying my SMU vs TCU game tickets tomorrow! Wooo

We shouldve beaten San Jose State last year and in 2002. Everyone in the metroplex knows we should win that game making them want to come out like they did for the UTEP game last year...I still cant believe we lost that game also.

That's quite optomistic. The actual butts in seats figure was much less than the 36k announced, more like 32k. I sat on the east side in a sea of red and the usual west side no-shows were quite obvious. By my calculations, we have to average over 11.5k for the rest of the home season. Gonna be closer than you think, I'm afraid....
