Injuries and depth

perhaps more damaging than the 44-0 blowout score is the number of guys we now have banged up and probably not ready to go against OSU. That game could really be ugly!

I didn't hear Cory Muse mentioned las night. Did he play? Sounds like we have major problems with the LBs, secondary and OL because of injuries. Might be wise to let those w/injuries sit the OSU game, give more RS frosh and sophs a chance to show what they can do...and just take another beating as we prepare for San Jose State.

We all need to remember at this time next week...we tried to get out of this OSU game and schedule a I-AA team we could compete against!

Muse played a significant number of plays-in my depressed state can't say whether it was situational or not-I bet it was since I remember him running on the field by himself several times.

After seeing the game last night, it is highly questionable if we could compete against even a I-AA team.

Yeah, Muse played. He was sort of a microcosm of the difference between playing Tech and playing TCU. Against a TT team that relies on speed and finesse, Cory Muse played extremely well for a freshman playing his first game. Against a huge TCU line that relies on its brawn, he struggled. He'll still be a good one, but he needs to add more strength and size. Not a good last night for Muse, but it wasn't a good night for any or us.

Last night was Exhibit A for Stallion's contention that we can't be happy with a good player at one position or another. We need athletes at all positions, and multiple athletes at all positions. I confess to being among those who looked at the starting lineup and thought we're improved this year. And we are. But with our lack of depth, we're a couple of injuries away from facing lopsided scores pretty often.
