Tech is not so good and it could have been a closer game if not for 3 turnovers...

TCU has one of the best offenses in the nation. Period.

They have two top grade collegiate QBs that perform that offense with precision and perfection.

I watch Brandon Hassell's technical perfection as he slides one direction, fakes a hand off, then backpedals out of the fake, and rolls another direction to hit a drifting WR across the middle in perfect stride. Time and time again he did that last year and continues this year.

Tye Gunn, although easily injured, is not as 'athletic', but is even BETTER!

Go ahead and throw in perhaps the best 1-2 RB tandem in the nation, and sprinkle in 3 excellent WRs.

I said we wouldn't have a chance in a shoot out...

I was only surprised that we weren't able to run it more effectively considering TCU's younger DL and suspect D backfield.

We shall see if their D matures and doesn't give up points like their NW game, but don't be surprised if TCU hangs 60 on a couple of lesser CUSA teams this year.

You're right. They're not going to be Baylor West, but they clearly aren't what they were. Without the turnovers, we were about even with them.

As much as I hate to admit it, you're right again. That was something of a machine the other night. Running, passing - everything worked, and worked very well.

I don't know. Gunn looked good, but Hassell - especially considering he came off the bench without warming up - was nothing short of sensational. He was deadly accurate from the start, and ran the offense to perfection. Can't root for him, because he's a froggie, but got to give him credit - he was terrific.

I thought Cory Rodgers was good, and I forget who the third was, but they're clearly playing second-fiddle (and third-fiddle) behind Harrell - that kid is amazing. Big, strong, amazingly fast, good hands, precise routes. Another froggie headed to the NFL.

So was I, except it's hard to run with so few attempts. Foy Munlin had what .... 5 carries? The thing that bugged me there was the way he was juking, trying to make people miss. Isn't he a power guy? I remember reading the quotes from the guys who had to tackle him when he was running with the scout team last year, and they talked about his power, how hard he ran. I don't know what the status of his shoulder is, but shouldn't he be putting his head down and running through people, rather than around them?

I don't care what you say, as an OSU fan Tech still scares me.

We have such a porous pass defense that an average QB can pick us apart. On top of that, The Leech runs a difficult offense and it takes time to break in a new QB. Their offense will be much smoother by the time we meet. Hopefully, ours will too!

How about the Minnesota Gophers "Gopher Express" of Barber and Maroney. Barber is averaging 7.1 yards per carry and Maroney 7.8.

TCU's backfield when healthy is at the very least among the best backfield in the country. Very few backfields can claim 2 RBs who ran for over 1,000 yards as freshmen-and each would have accomplished much more without injuries. . I think TCU is probably among the Top 5 schools in the country in offensive skill positions especially when you include their unbelievable depth. They've got at least 6 skill position players who could compete for All-Conference consideration but unfortunately some can't even get on the field.

When all is said and done and when Merrill gets healty these guys are going to rewrite the TCU record book. They are without question the most talented skill position players in Texas.

Where do you get off thinking that just because they are SEC or Big10 schools (i.e., Michigan) that they are 'better' than TCU's offense?

Michigan beat a WEAK MAC team, and just lost to a very weak ND (who lost to BYU who just lost to STANFORD) -- yet they are still ranked...

It is the irrational thinking that they are good, just because they are, that voters express sentiment like you.

HOBBS and MERRILL are as good of a 1-2 punch as any other Tandem out there, period.

How many Big 10 busts in the NFL do you need in order to deflate your 'reality'?

I suppose that you thought LT sucked when he was rolling off yards in the WAC, too.

The reality is, none of the RB's mentioned are going to get any pub without an O-line that can give them a hole to run through. If you can't get past the line of scrimmage, you're dead meat. Take Emmit Smith, in his best days he was great no doubt, but the holes he had to run through were so big...hell I could have run through them and looked decent...not great, but decent.

As BUS so elegantly puts it...BIG MEN, you can't go anywhere without them. Our big men are still growing and learning, but that is where our ultimate fate lies. Pray for these guys.
