Some suggestions please

Alright I could use everyone's help on this, and maybe this topic will give us a change of pace after the weekend.

Mrs. RGV & I are redecorating our game room, a "makeover," if you will. She's painting her section purple, to go with her LSU theme. Adorning her walls will be the framed Sugar Bowl picture from last year, framed front pages of the Baton Rouge & New Orleans paper, the "eye of the Tiger," etc.

So far for the "Pony side," I have...um...the framed print of GJ Ford the day we opened the place. Suggestions for other stuff are welcome.

This may only be semi-related, but I am remodeling the study in my house into a "Snuffer's" room, with dark wood wanescoting, grooved textured off-white walls, lots of framed pictures, but I am in a debate with the Mrs. Dooby over the green ceiling.

"Trading Spaces" comes to www.ponyfans.com!!!!! All we're missing is Page Davis (an SMU alum!) to lend a hand.

Frankly, I think you need to paint a big red "37" superimposed over the running Mustang on the wall and surround it with all sorts of memorabilia from SMU. Suggestions: a signed football from the 1982 team; photos of the 'great ones' (Walker, Rote, Gregg, McKissick, Meredith, LeVias, Dickerson, James, McIlhenny, etc. - the list goes on and on); an SMU Mustang doormat; SMU folding T.V. trays (I've got one I'll give you!); and finally take all those SMU football programs you've saved over the years (come on, you know you have!) and get 'em framed and mount 'em on the wall! Start with the Bluebonnet Bowl program.

Hope this helps! And get on www.ebay.com and buy some other SMU stuff.

You might as well paint the whole "game"room purple and gold. I don't know if SMU sports memorabilia in a gameroom invokes the image of fun and competitiveness, unless you run track in your gameroom...oh, wait, we don't have that anymore either.

On another note, I personally watched the Tigers do to Arkansas State what TCU did to us last weekend. The game wasn't so interesting, but the atmosphere was UNBELIEVABLE...almost brings a tear to your eye...I don't think we'll ever create that at Ford.

BRStang: That's crap and you know it! SMU has a fantastic history in sports and if you don't believe it then you should go support another school. Something tells me you're a troll anyway.

BRStang: FYI, my wife came to the marriage w/ LSU season tix. While I appreciate your input, I must say I've been to the SEC Champ., Cotton Bowl, & Death Valley, & you know what? I love the atmosphere, but every time I'm there, while I support LSU (my stepdaughter goes there), I can't WAIT to hear Peruna played at a bowl game.

Paint it red and blue Pony stencils at the top with pictures of our greats: LeVias, Meredith, Dickerson, James, Rote, Berry, Livingston, Gregg, and Walker. Cotton Bowl program from 1983 would be great. An old Dallas newspaper from 1935 trumpeting our National Championship. Lots of stuffed Pony dolls wouldn't hurt. Add in pictures of Heidenrich, Massengale-Potter, Frohlander, Carter, and Lundquist. And to top it off today's photo of the day would certainly brighten the room.

Put pictures of SMU campus beauties on the wall and a listing of the SMU athletic graduation rate since the Death Penalty (Year by Year).
