Welcome to Stillwater!!!

Hey PonyFans... I was here last year before we played and wanted to return now to welcome you to Stillwater!
I run the non-networked OSU site, www.o-state.com
There are a few of you registered there from last year, so come back and chat about the game! If you are new, please stop over! I linked up last year with PonyFans.com to drive OSU fans over here.
Anyway...
For those of you coming, I wanted to invite you to our tailgate which is the biggest and best on gameday in Stillwater. It's located directly across the street from the stadium, on the North Side. If you walk to the North ticket office box, do a 180 from the stands and you'll see the tents and the HUGE smoker. There is also an o-state.com CyberPokes Tailgate banner.
For information on our tailgates, you can go to: www.OSUtailgating.com
(It's just a sub-page of our o-state.com site)
We always enjoy having fans from other schools attend.
Also, some info on what to do... please to eat... where to stay:
Eatin'
Eskimo Joes: Always a popular place... almost too popular before games. If you want to eat there, I would get there at least 2-3 hours early. They have a huge waiting list on gamedays. The food is okay, but it's a neat place and only a short walk to the stadium. They also sell very popular t-shirts. In fact, 2nd in the world only to Hard Rock. www.eskimojoes.com
Hideaway Pizza: IMO, best pizza in the world. They are right off campus, south of the stadium. It's been around since the 1950's and they have really-really good fried mushrooms (famous actually) and again, the pizza is GREAT. My favorite pizza is "Pizza of the Gods" which has olive oil, garlic colves, artichokes hearts, tomatoes, and cheese. www.hideawaypizza.com
Bad Brads BBQ: One of my favorite BBQ joints, next to Rudy's. They are located east of town, off 6th street which is HWY 51. Take 6th street and just start driving east. They are on the right (south) side of the road, right past the John Deere. If you like smoked sausage, order them. The wait is really not bad here.
Joseppis: It's a part of the Eskimo Joe's chain, which is run by Stan Clark... big time business man in Stilwlater. Anyway, I really like this place, it has good Italian food and has a nice bar. www.joseppis.com
Stillwater Bay: Stan Clark seafood resturant... it's off 6th street and Husband, by the Court House. They also have nice bar. I haven't been there in a while, but it was good when we lived there. www.stillwaterbay.com
Mexico Joes: The final Clark joint, and a place to avoid IMO. The food wasn't good when I used to live in Stillwater. I only went beacuse I got free food from my buddy who used to work there
www.mexicojoes.com
Curly's: A hamburger place that has been around forever. It's off 6th street, a little east of Perkins Road. They have homemade onion rings and really good hickory burgers. Never crowded.
Of course, we have the chains like Chili's, Applebee's, etc. I would try one of the places above and if you had to pick only one: Hidaway Pizza. If you want to just drink, stop by the tailgate or go to George's Stables across from Joe's.
Places to stay: Here is a list I made a while back: http://www.o-state.com/stillwater/lodging.htm
If you don't have a place to stay, called The Atherton Hotel at OSU and get on their waiting list. Rooms almost always open up... and worst case, stay in Guthrie off I-35. The OSU hotel has small rooms, but those rooms are NICE. DVD players in each room, big beds, nice bathrooms. Just small. They also have a crazy 7 p.m. gameday checkin time and $8 parking.
Things to do
If you love to play Golf and can afford at $250 green fee, call Karsten Creek. It's the OSU course, which is rated the #1 college golf course in the world. It's also a top 10/15 public course rated by Golf Digest. If you play, bring a lot of golf balls. It's located west of town, on HWY 51 going towards I-35.
There are also a nice course in the town of Perkins, south of Stillwater about nine miles, called Cimarron Trails. It's a cheap place to play, but they have always had it in really good shape. It's only about 15-years or so old.
There is also a lake west of Stillwater off 51, called Lake Carl Blackwell, if you are into those types of things.
There isn't any malls in Stillwater, so your woman shouldn't expect to go to Dillards
. They've always voted it down, because they don't want to hurt their downtown area (main street). There are some nice stores off Main Street; Cotton Tails is a childrens store that my wife LOVES to go. Also, the Wooden Nickle (across from Hideaway) is popular with the ladies.
If you have any other questions, please post'em or again... visit my site: www.o-state.com
HOPE YOU ALL ATTEND THE 'GATE AND HAVE A SAFE TRIP!
